Southern Palette Lemon Bars

From a southern cooking group for these tangy and well loved lemon bars. Having made many lemon ba recipes, butter is better for best flavor in my opinion!
Ingredients
- Crust: shopping list
- 2 C all purpose flour, sifted shopping list
- 1 C butter or margarine, softened shopping list
- 1/2 C Confectioner’s sugar, sifted shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 4 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 1/2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 2 C granulated sugar shopping list
- 4 T Confectioner’s sugar shopping list
- 1/3 C lemon juice shopping list
- 1/2 C flour shopping list
How to make it
- Crrsut:
- Sift together flour and confectioner’s sugar.
- Cut in butter until mixture clings together.
- Press into 9×13 inch dish.
- Bake at 350 for twenty five minutes or until lightly browned.
- Filling
- Combine and beat eggs, granulated sugar, and lemon juice.
- Sift flour and baking powder; stir into egg mixture.
- Pour over baked crust.
- Bake at 350 for fifteen minutes or until slightly browned and set.
- Remove from oven.
- Cool and sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar.
- Cut into bars.
