Grilled Tequila Lime Shrimp

- 2-3 pound of deveined shrimp with shell on (fills one gallon jar) shopping list
- 2 8 ounce bottles of lime juice shopping list
- 1 pint tequila shopping list
- Sauce: 1 stick butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup lime juice shopping list
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder(opt.) shopping list
- Special equipment: 1 gallon jar w/lid shopping list
- bamboo skewers shopping list
How to make it
- Clean and rinse shrimp, leave in shell.
- Fill gallon jar with shrimp within 1 inch of top.
- Pour in tequila and lime juice.
- Seal jar and let marinate for 1 to 2 hours.
- Soak skewers per instructions.
- Drain shrimp.
- Thread 6 to 8 shrimp per skewer.
- Heat grill to lowest temp.
- Oil grates to keep shrimp from sticking.
- Lay skewers on grates and brush on butter sauce.
- Watch carefully as each grill varies.
- Mine takes about 7 minutes for first side.
- Turn over shrimp and brush again.
- Once shrimp become "red", they are done.
- Any reserve butter sauce may be use to brush on again.
- Remove from skewers, peel, and enjoy!!
