DR PEPPER CAKE

My husband loves Dr. Pepper so every year on his b-day I make this cake for him.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine shopping list
- 3 tbsp cocoa shopping list
- 1 cup Dr pepper shopping list
- 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 1/2 cupbuttermilk shopping list
- 1/2 tsp baking soda shopping list
- ICING: shopping list
- 6 tbsp Dr pepper shopping list
- 3 tbsp cocoa shopping list
- 1 cup nuts, chopped shopping list
- 1/2 cup margarine shopping list
- 1 lb confectioners' sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp almond extract shopping list
How to make it
- Put the shortening, margarine, cocoa and Dr Pepper in a pan and bring to a boil.
- In a large bowl, mix the sugar, flour and marshmallows;
- pour the Dr Pepper mixture in and beat at high speed until marshmallows melt.
- In a bowl, mix the eggs, buttermilk and baking soda;
- add to batter.
- Pour into 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.
- After cake is cooled top with the icing.
