- 1 French bread( about 10 oz.)Cut in 1/2" thick slices shopping list
- 4 Large cloves garlic,minced shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 4 Cups roma tomatoes,peeled,seeded,chopped shopping list
- 2 Tablespoon balsamic vinegar shopping list
- 2 Tablespoon fresh basil leaves shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper,freshly ground shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
How to make it
- In sauce pan,saute garlic in oil over medium heat for about 2 minutes(or)until the garlic just begins to brown slightly.
- Stir in tomatoes and vineger.
- Stirring often,cook for about 20 minutes (or)until mixture thickens and volume reduces by half.
- Stir in basil,pepper and salt.
- To Serve: Toast bread slices under broiler for about a minute or so on each side.Brush top of each slice with olive oil.Place 2 teaspoons topping on each slice...broil about 4 minutes (or) until heated through.
