Ingredients

Blackberry Mixture: 3 pints blackberries

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup water

1 1/2 tbsp. butter

milk (as needed)

Batter: 2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp. salt

1 egg

3 tbsp. sugar

3-1/2 tsp. baking powder

Directions

In a bowl sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Add egg, mix well. Add milk ,as needed, to make a stiff batter. Set aside.

In a lrg. pan combine, blackberries, sugar, butter, and water and bring to a boil.

Drop batter a spoonful at a time into boiling blackberry mixture.

Cover with lid and cook for about 15-20 min.

Serve with your choice of ice cream or whipped cream.
