Creeks Blackberry Dumplings

Wonderful sweet and simple dessert from the Appaalachian Mountains. Great with ice cream, or whipped cream.
Ingredients
- Blackberry Mixture: 3 pints blackberries shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup water shopping list
- 1 1/2 tbsp. butter shopping list
- milk (as needed) shopping list
- Batter: 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 3 tbsp. sugar shopping list
- 3-1/2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
How to make it
- In a bowl sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add egg, mix well. Add milk ,as needed, to make a stiff batter. Set aside.
- In a lrg. pan combine, blackberries, sugar, butter, and water and bring to a boil.
- Drop batter a spoonful at a time into boiling blackberry mixture.
- Cover with lid and cook for about 15-20 min.
- Serve with your choice of ice cream or whipped cream.
