How to make it

  • All ingredients should be room temp
  •  
  • Method
  • 1 Place dry ingredients in a 5 qt bowl and mix well with the paddle
  • 2 Whisk together the eggs, vanilla and buttermilk
  •  
  • 3 Pour hot water over butter pieces to melt
  •  
  • 4 Alternately add the buttermilk mixture and butter mixture into the dry ingredients
  • Scrapping frequently and well. Do not over mix.
  •  
  • 5 Line and spray 3 8” round cake pans (I use the foil loaf pans)
  •  
  • 6 Fill the pans about2/3 full with batter.
  •  
  • 7 Bake at 350 F. For about 30-45 min (use the tooth pick test to check if its done
  •  
  • 8 Freeze before cutting 1 cm high layers (I just eyed it)
  •  
  • 9 Wrap and store in the refrigerator until needed
