- 625 g sugar shopping list
- 335 g All purpose flour shopping list
- 3 g salt shopping list
- 190 g cocoa powder shopping list
- 22 g baking soda shopping list
- 11 g baking powder shopping list
- 1 vanilla bean split and scraped shopping list
- 400 g buttermilk shopping list
- 290 g eggs shopping list
- 400 g water hot shopping list
- 180 g butter cut to small pieces shopping list

How to make it
- All ingredients should be room temp
- Method
- 1 Place dry ingredients in a 5 qt bowl and mix well with the paddle
- 2 Whisk together the eggs, vanilla and buttermilk
- 3 Pour hot water over butter pieces to melt
- 4 Alternately add the buttermilk mixture and butter mixture into the dry ingredients
- Scrapping frequently and well. Do not over mix.
- 5 Line and spray 3 8” round cake pans (I use the foil loaf pans)
- 6 Fill the pans about2/3 full with batter.
- 7 Bake at 350 F. For about 30-45 min (use the tooth pick test to check if its done
- 8 Freeze before cutting 1 cm high layers (I just eyed it)
- 9 Wrap and store in the refrigerator until needed
