Carnation Velvet Fudge

- 3 squares unsweetened chocolate shopping list
- 3 cups sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons white Karo corn syrup shopping list
- 1 cup Carnation Evaporated Milk shopping list
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1 cup chopped nuts shopping list
How to make it
- Melt chocolate squares in a 2 quart saucepan on medium heat on the stovetop
- Fold in sugar
- Add the Karo corn syrup and Carnation milk
- Stir over medium heat until sugar and chocolate dissolve
- Bring to boil and cook , stirring occasionally to 234 degrees or until soft ball stage forms in cold water
- Remove from heat and cool to 110 degrees in same saucepan
- When cool, add butter or margarine, vanilla extract, and chopped nuts
- Beat by hand until candy loses it's gloss and pour into a butterered dish
- Let set, lick the spoon in the meantime, and then cut into squares.
