Ingredients

How to make it

  • Add water to microwave safe dish and heat to boiling (about 2 minutes).
  • While water is heating, liberally prick breasts with a fork on both sides.
  • When water is done boiling, add bouillon, Italian seasoning, garlic and butter/margarine, stir well.
  • Carefully place breasts top side down, spoon liquid over the tops of the chicken if it isn't fully immersed in the liquid.
  • Cover and heat on HIGH for 5-7 minutes.
  • Let it sit for a minute (IF YOU DO NOT have a turn-style then also turn the dish once as well as rearrange the chicken) then heat on HIGH for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Check first to be sure chicken is cooked thoroughly. If not, cook in additional 2 minute intervals.
  • Note: These instructions are for my microwave which is a 1200 watt microwave. For adjustments see this site: http://www.microwavecookingforone.com/Charts/ChartSpecial.html and scroll down to 1200 watts.

Yes a little bit. The water prevents the microwave from drying out the chicken. It doesn't taste boiled either. It really is yummy.

    Thanks for the comment!

this looks nice. I've been looking for something else to do with a microwave and chicken. However, I'm a bit confused. Is this suppose to come out as a brothy dish?

Thanks Magnolia! I really don't use my microwave enough for cooking, apart from veg... It's a 650W model though, 20 yrs old Toshiba but built to last... thanks for the info regarding converting cooking times.

    Cheers
    Susan
