Country Fried Steak

- beef cubed steaks (about 1 pound) shopping list
- 2 egg whites, well beaten shopping list
- 2 tablespoons milk shopping list
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil shopping list
- Prepared salsa, plain yogurt shopping list
- Coating: shopping list
- 1/2 cup unseasoned dry bread crumbs shopping list
- 1 tablespoon cornmeal shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon Spicy seasoning Mix (recipe follows): shopping list
- Spicy seasoning Mix: Combine 3 Tbs chili powder, 2 tsp ground cumin, 1-1/2 tsp garlic powder, 3/4 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp ground red pepper in an airtight container. Shake before using. shopping list
How to make it
- Combine egg whites and milk in shallow dish. Combine coating ingredients in second shallow dish. Dip beef steaks into egg white mixture, then into coating mixture, to coat both sides.
- Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium to medium high heat until hot. Place steaks in skillet; cook 5 to 6 minutes, turning once. Serve with salsa and yogurt.
