Hot Cranberry Punch Recipe
This delicious punch is served during the Victorian Christmas celebration at the Burgess Museum in Sandwich, MA on old Cape Cod. Thornton Burgess, born in Sandwich in 1874, was a naturalist and author of the Peter Rabbit stories.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 4 cups cranberry juice
  • 4 cups pineapple juice
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • lemon slices studded with cloves

Directions
  1. Boil sugar and water over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  2. Add lemon, cranberry, and pineapple juices and spices.
  3. Heat slowly until just boiling.
  4. Cool slightly; pour into warmed punch bowl.
  5. Garnish with lemon slices studded with cloves.
