How to make it

  • Chop the herbs and garlic in a food processor; add pepper. To make spread,
  • add 1/2 cup blend to 8 tablespoons softened butter (or margarine), 1 pound
  • softened cream cheese , and whirl until blended. Chill in refrigerator for
  • several hours. Store in freezer for up to 3 months in an airtight
  • container. The herbs can also be stored frozen in butter; then add the
  • cream cheese just before serving. If frozen in butter; then add the cream
  • cheese just before serving. If frozen, thaw in refrigerator, and then
  • reblend with an electric mixer before serving.

    Made this recipe this past weekend and it was very delicious. Much cheeper to make yourself, plus it makes a larger amount than the loaf you buy at the store. I actually forgot the garlic at 1st and realized while eating a few cracker fulls -something is missing -GARLIC! Of course -HOW ?? could you forget such an important ingredient ?? It was good, but not well balance like it should be. I change it by adding 3 cloves of garlic(just stired it into the room temp cheese) -I liked it but husband said it was too garlicky. Next time I'll stay with the 1 clove so everyone is happy.

    This sounds wonderful - I will have to post my bourin, meat and cheese sandwich loaf...it would be perfect with this!
