    What type of wood to you like to use when you smoke your foods?

    I prefer Hickory, but we've used applewood and Mesquite. I think Hickory adds a more distinctive flavor to whatever I'm smoking...we make our own jerkey and we smoke Turkeys.

    If you have never smoked anything before.. try a whole chicken...no seasonings or anything ..just chicken...keep a pan of water in with your chicken to keep your chicken moist...

    I have used lots of different woods, each with their own unique flavor. Almond is good, pecan is one of my favorites, but for my family that doesn't like the "real smoky" flavor i go with orange wood. Very mild like apple. Give it a try!!!!! Thank god there are still people that don't use those damn gas grills!!! Lazy Lazy Lazy.
