episode 5 *Spoilers!*

I thought I'd better do a quick write up since I watched Downton Abbey last night! Feel free to join in Downton Fans! :)

Well, that episode sure ended with a bang! It really shocked me! I can't really explain what happened to Robert, but if you watched, well than no explanation needed!
At least the ambulance got there quickly! I thought he might die, but it looks like he'll be ok? Maybe this is what will finally teach the Dowager that they need to merge with a more advanced hospital.

Finally, Mary is figuring out who Marigold is!! Two shockers this episode!

Mary and the race car driver, hmm, probably won't happen. (hello, Tom is right there, figure it out you two! ;) And looks like a nice love match between Mrs. Patmore and Mr. Mason could happen, if Daisy doesn't ruin it! And finally, Edith got a kiss!!

Mrs Hughes needs to teach Mr.Carson that he can't have Downton standards at his cottage home. If that was me, I'd make him fend for himself! Lol ;)
Hopefully by teaching Andy to read, poor Barrow will finally have a friend.
Not too sure if anything else will happen to Baxter and the court case? yawn there..
Funny how Spratt had to save Denka from being fired! I knew she'd hold 'hiding his nephew' over his head sooner or later!

I'm glad you got here before me because I was going to title the thread "Episode Ewwwww" That was kinda over the top. I was getting queasy near the end there. It just kept going on and on and on. I guess Julian Fellowes heard us say last week's episode was a snoozer.
I was trying to figure out by the look on Mary's face just what this revelation about Petunia meant to her. I guess she would have new respect for Edith because of what Mary figures she must have gone through hiding the truth. Not certain but she seemed to soften toward Edith a bit. I think this is one thing I'd like to see tied up. I like Edith more and more. :)
Mr. Carson's bed is going to be as cold as that plate was if he doesn't shut up!
I really like the character of Barrow because he is so complex. He is the only person at Downton I would like to figure out what makes him tick. I want to know more about him. He goes from evil to good in a split second. He is very interesting to me.
That Baxter trial tie up was very anti-climactic. What a waste of time. I guess it was just an excuse to bind her and Mosely.
OK, I don't like the racing car guy. Period.

I agree, ewwwwww! That was hard to watch Robert cough up all of that blood all over the dining table and Cora:( Glad he's going to be ok...my Gawd! The ambulance DID get there very quickly..I figured in those days it would take forever!

Ha! Petunia..you crack me up..yep, Mary knows!

Carson, Carson, Carson..you need to appreciate what you get for dinner, otherwise you may have to start cooking for yourself!

Shona, oh yeah..major yawns on Baxter's court case and the hospital stuff..BORING!

I don't care for the race car driver much either..Matthew was better looking..lol The race car driver and Mary just don't go together well...such opposites...

I have always liked Barrow..he IS very complex..he can be so evil and then before you know it, he's being kind...he's just not happy..I feel sorry for him:(

Yeah, I don't get a good vibe from that racing guy either. I'm surprised Mary went to watch him race, since her Husband died in a car crash!
I really liked Barrow's character through all these seasons, I hoped they would give him more of a story line this year. We could do with more Barrow and less Mosely and Baxter..;)
I love Edith too, less frowning and 'woe is me" , she's coming out of Mary's shadow :)

i was shocked at the blood scene but they sure did it well! holy kamoly, it just kept coming and coming!!!! i didn't think he was going to survive that!

that'd be awesome if tom and mary got together but i'll be surprised if it happens. yay on edith's kiss. and yay she hired a woman editor for her magazine.

that'd be lovely if mrs. patmore and mr. mason got together. not quite sure what daisy's problem is but she's acting very immaturely.

couldn't believe the gall of mr. carson. i think we'll see him get his just desserts served up to him on a silver serving platter soon!

i've always DESPISED barrow but then had to feel bad for him when it came out that he was gay and had to really hide such things back then. so i have a smidge of sympathy for him but only a smidge. i wished he would have moved into that empty mansion with that old, old guy a few episodes ago when he went job searching. i thought he could live out his butlering days catering to that guy and if he was super lucky the old guy could have passed on ho\is fortune to barrow when he passed and then barrow could have gone on and lived it up. :)

I think Daisy is jealous. Mr. Mason has been pretty far away. She basically had him and his attention all to herself. Now he is right next door and making new friends, who also happen to be her friends. She is a rather immature thing, that's for certain.
