Easy But Darn Good Will be a Cookbook but will feature only my recipes

    I can see that most everyone except my good friends realized that I would take the time to ask permission of each and every person that would submit their recipes in the project. No one even asked me if I would do that, but sent me inflammatory notes accusing me of stealing their recipes! This is not only uncalled for, but shows the maturity level of the people I am dealing with. I learned what plagiarism was in my Honors English courses and do not want any lawsuits slapped on me, especially when my intentions are only noble.
    Obviously most of you dont' truly know the lady you are accusing and it is insulting.
    I graduated from Chapman University in their Master's program in Business and I wanted to give each and every person the notoriety they deserved. I was going to include pictures and a bio on each person, but forget it. I will include the recipes from my chef friends who have restaurants and who are Food Writers getting paid in the business of food.
    Most people are honored and thank you for thinking of including them in a project. That is the way of things folks; grow up! I am sorry, but I will print the book without anyone. I have plenty of my own recipes that are very good and didn't need to do this.

    IF YOU WANT TO BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT AND WANT YOUR PICTURE, A BIO ETC...SHOWING YOUR CULINARY PROWESS, LET ME KNOW AT:

    COOKINGUPASTORMINCA@GMAIL.COM

    IF NOT-DO NOT EMAIL ME. AT THIS POINT, THERE IS NO NEED.

    DON'T ASSUME. I CAN SAY THAT OVER AND OVER AGAIN, BUT MOST OF YOU ASSUMED THAT I WOULD "STEAL YOUR RECIPES"! I HAVE FAR MORE OF MY OWN AND DON'T NEED YOURS. I WOULD NEVER DO SUCH A THING. THE POINT: NOBODY EVEN ASKED ME WHAT MY INTENT WAS; NOBODY ASKED; NOBODY CARED.

    YOUR APPROACH TO THIS VENTURE WAS IMMATURE AND AS I SAID, MY FRIENDS WHO ARE 4 STAR CHEFS WOULD CONTRIBUTE WITHOUT EVER THINKING ANYTHING OF IT, AND WOULD KNOW I WOULD GIVE FULL CREDIT TO THEM.

    NO COPYRIGHT WAS OBTAINED FOR THIS VENTURE-IT WAS GOING TO BE OBTAINED AS A COLLECTIVE COPYRIGHT-GIVING CREDIT TO ALL.

    Polly, your note did not read that way. Your note said you were using the recipes, and that you did realize that over 60 people had contributed. Your note ALSO said if anyone in the group wanted credit they should email you. That implies that you were NOT asking permission, and that you fully indted to use them all without any further notification. You even posted the fact that you had copyrighted the group. Do not insult our intelligence, and try to make anyone out to be "the bad guy". If your intentions were honorable, you wouldn't need to defend them so vehemently. The fact that you obtained a copyright BEFORE you asked permission speaks for itself. As does the fact that you totally ingnored that to do so is against the terms and conditions of the site.

    Actually, according to the term snad conditions of the site, you can't publish any of your own recipes that have been posted here in your cookbook.

    WOW, Polly, you speak of "maturity level of the people you are dealing with." First of all, if you truly are a 'Honors English' student, you would know you don't end a sentence with a preposition. Just sayin... Secondly, "dealing with"? You didn't 'deal' with anyone of us - you just took it upon yourself to start spewing how great YOU are and what YOU were doing, etc. I find it laughable that you call us out on maturity level, when you post above reeks of a "neener neener" playground mentality. Please, spare us the sanctimonious bs!

    I have to agree with the statements above. Most points of concern have already been addressed. My take on it includes the following: (1) If, as you say, your intentions were "noble," you indeed would have posed the question (in general) "What does the population of GR think about my idea?"--and respectfully at that point, you would have answered in kind as to your side. (2) The pure crap you're spewing about "copyright this" or "copyright that" is just that---crap. If indeed you have or have attempted to copyright any part of this website, then Kristopher has you by your metaphorical short hairs, should he decide to sue. I know if I owned a website with as many thousand hits per day as this one rates---not only would I sue you for intellectual property theft, I'd find about four other perspectives with which to bend you over legally. (3) By definition, a recipe itself cannot be "copyrighted," because of it's inherent maleability--(I'll wait while your "honors" degree a$$ goes to look that one up)*pause* *pause* ...but a "collection" of recipes can, along with related material. (4) I smell a troll. Your FB profile reeks of it, your "neener neener" attitude (replete with the "nah-nah-nah" Looney Toons pics shown) and the g-mail address? Yeah. You a troll, hun. People with nothing to hide, hide nothing. Real people have real e-mails. You're just one of those who likes to think they're hiding in plain site. (5) Lastly, in common language even you can understand-- you're about eat up with a good case of the dumba$$. But please, by all means--carry on with your "friends who are chefs" and all the rest. It's really good entertainment while I'm waiting on my gumpaste to dry.

    That is all.

    This is just called a really great idea gone strange here. This venture was way too much trouble than it is worth and i am printing my recipes in my book only. I am also working on "Cooking For A Cure" which will raise money to go towards Epilepsy Research.

    I am moving this to my blog called "Cooking Up A Storm All Over The World!" at;

    http://www.CookingUpAStorminCa.ning.com.
