Recipe Link

  • sparow64 13 years ago
    Hey Kris, I noticed the "Add link" message beside the comment box on a recipe that I had made and was reviewing in I Made It. I didn't feel like anything happened, but, I didn't feel like I was doing it correctly, either. How do we need to do this? Thanks

    it's just an information link letting you know you can add a link to a recipe.maybe a link to another recipe that you made to go with this one, or something like that. It's not meant to "do" anything, specific.

    I'm going to go do one then I'll copy it, here, so you can see what I mean! :)

    @sparow,

    Yeah, when you click "add a link?" it should have then given you a description of what that means. Basically, if you paste a URL into the comment box, we'll automatically turn it into a link. The most common reasons to do this would be to:

    1) Link to another recipe that would pair well with the current,
    2) Link to your version of the recipe that is slightly different,
    3) Or post an invite to a group.

    Hope that helps.

    it didn't work, though, Kristopher...I just tried it.

    OK. I was hoping to put the recipe in the I Made It group, so, that wouldn't have worked anyway. No problem as far as that goes, we can copy and paste links. Cool idea to link recipes together!! love it!

    Thanks both of you

    Use the "The Groups" box in the right-hand column of the recipe page to add a recipe to one of your groups.

    Will look into this not working.

    that doesn't work for the I Made It Group, though, Kristopher, cus the idea is to add recipes of others' that we made, not our own.

    We don't own the recipes we want to add. I Made It was one of the most popular groups before the change, and that was one reason so many were asking about the change in the Add to Groups option. Trying to figure out how to still keep it going. :)

    We've been adding the recipe link in the 'I Made It' group threads, whenever we talk about a recipe we've made. A clickable recipe link would be soooo cool!

    That would be great! We do the same thing in Our Daily Dinner, add recipes we are making. BUT...I don't want to have to spend my time deleting recipes from "bogus" groups, either, so I'm still down with not adding others recipes to groups. (Just for these two groups! lol).
