    Apple Spice Pancakes
Made for IMI2's September 2018 "Apple" challenge.

My review: Delicious and a wonderful taste of Autumn. Apples did not say to peel or not so I peeled. I diced my apple very small and it cooked quick. I know my taste and decreased the nutmeg and cloves down to a 1/4 tsp. each. I did need more milk, almost another 1/2 c. and even though the batter was still thicker than a normal pancake batter I went with it and it made for a nice volumed pancake.

Yum, It looks delicious Linda! I'm a huge pancake lover, and your picture is making me drool....;)
I love that it adds sautéed apples to the batter vs raw apples. Great recipe find! :D

I'm looking for recipes without a lot of added sugar. 2 Tablespoons is doable for me. LOL!

Those look so good Linda! I would have cut back on the cloves too...ever since I made that corned beef recipe, I've been sensitive to the stuff lol. Nice thick pancakes are the best :)

Cloves and nutmeg can be overwhelming Michelle. I’m glad I had the sense to reduce both. There was enough flavor for me.

Oh my goodness that sounds delicious and you took a lovely photo too Linda! I do prefer my pancakes thinner so maybe I`ll try add even more milk and see what happens as I`d really like to try this out. Did you half the recipe or make the entire thing?

I made the entire recipe Janet and got 10 good-sized pancakes, between 4-5 inches.

Great photo, LindaLMT! Those look so heavenly. I bet they tasted awesome. I wonder if the batter needs to be thicker due to the moisture content from the apples.

No idea DIZ. The apple really didn't throw off a lot of liquid (IMO). The batter was like muffin batter, that thick. I thinned it out enough so I could get it in the pan by the spoonful and then spread it around. It's been so long since I made pancakes I wasn't sure what was normal?? and how much to thin it. In the end it worked out.
