How to make it

  • melt butter
  • dice apple and sautee' in butter with cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg
  • mix dry ingredients
  • mix milk, egg and vanilla
  • add to dry ingredients, mix until relatively smooth (sometimes you may need to add more milk if the batter seems too thick)
  • add the sautee'd apples and butter
  • cook on a griddle or skillet as you would for any other pancake (turn when batter bubbles on top, they are done when the cooked side feels soft to the touch)

Delicious and a wonderful taste of Autumn. Apples did not say to peel or not so I peeled. I diced my apple very small and it cooked quick. I know my taste and decreased the nutmeg and cloves down to a 1/4 tsp. each. I did need more milk, almost another 1/2 c. and even though the batter was still thicker than a normal pancake batter I went with it and it made for a nice volumed pancake.

Sounds wonderful. I have a similar recipe, but never thought of sauteing the apples. I usually increase the cinnamon to a tablespoon, so I'll probably love the cloves and nutmeg. I like to make them into waffles, so I may add a tablespoon of oil. Will try it your way first.
