I made this in 2016, but this time I have a photo of it.
We had it with my home made multi grain bread.
Delicious.

I haven't tried Bren's recipe because of the red wine and mushrooms. But I made this a few weeks ago and it's really good too: Crock Pot Italian Beef And Barley Soup

Good to know you don't always use the mushrooms or wine! I like the tomatoes in that recipe I posted, it gives a nice body to the soup. (probably similar to what the wine does in Bren's recipe)

Very nice looking soup, Manella! I know this is about the soup, but your homemade multigrain bread is beautiful. Wish I could have a warm piece dolloped with a big slab of butter.
