Blackened Turkey Dip

    I made Keni's
    Blackened Turkey Dip/saved#
for dinner last night and it was CRAZY GOOD! I used to smile at Keni's comments as she'd make a recipe but invariably 'change or tweak' it and so I think she'd be okay that I did the same with this one. :)

I really wasn't familiar with 'turkey tenderloins' nor am I a huge 'blackened' fan, so I took Michelle's lead and simply used some leftover turkey I had in the freezer from Christmas. I didn't bother with any Cajun seasoning at all.

I used a 500 ml. jar of my home made chicken broth and added some dried sage and savoury, fresh ground pepper, the sauteed onion and garlic and an envelope of Oxo chicken bouillion to deepen the flavour. I actually had a 125 ml. jar of leftover turkey gravy in the freezer as well so threw that in as well. The dip was SO good.

I layered the turkey (which I had pre-warmed in the microwave) on two crusty rolls, topped with Jalopeno Havarti, and placed it under the broiler. Served it with a bowl of the dipping sauce on the side and some sliced tomatoes as a veg.

I would have never thought to make "Turkey Dip" as opposed to "Beef Dip" and the flavours are SO different, and SO good. I will totally add this to our regular menu rotation. It is good comfort food.

Thank you Keni. This is a keeper!!!!!!
