Fabulous Pizza Crust Recipe

  • eastcoaster 3 years ago
A very easy pizza crust to make, I used Bob Mills Gluten Free Baking Flour and it worked great. What I did was precook the crust for 12 minutes then added my tomato sauce, Mild Italian Sausage, crumbled up and cooked and grated Goat cheese.
The recipe does not give time or temperature so I baked it at 425 for 15 minutes as it was a thick crust.
I find with gluten free flour in making pizza crust it needs pre cooking or it comes out doughy in the centre.
It also took one hour to rise in the oven on bread proof covered with a tea towel. Gluten free does take a bit longer to rise.
I was going to give a 4 because of the time and temperature but I gave it a 5 for easy.

    Yum! that looks delicious Manella!
I'm glad it worked out with Gluten free flour. Did you just get the one pizza crust, or did it make more?

Hi Shona, thank you. I always seem to omit something when writing a review:)))
I used a 9" cake pan and the crust was on the thick side which i do like.
It can be made in two 9" cake pans if a thinner crust is preferred.
Next time we have pizza i will do that so i can have leftovers. Nothing like a
    slice of leftover pizza:)))))

Recipe to consider for next time: Pizza Dough.
Can be made into pizza crust or bread loaves. All the flavoring is in the dough besides what one would put on top.

Thanks Manella, I have 8" round cake pans, I could probably do 2 of those. My family loves thick crust pizza, I usually go for thin crust. But I do love a thick pan-pizza now and again! ;)
Yes, nothing like leftover pizza, my son loves cold pizza for breakfast. :)

I'm always on the lookout for a new homemade pizza crust recipe so I bookmarked! I have never made a pizza in a cake pan before so this sounds interesting. Is it considered 'deep dish' I guess? Glad it turned out well and your picture is awesome :)

Hi Michelle, thank you. I think you could probably call it deep dish:)))
I was very happy that it worked so well with the gluten free flour.
