Peach Praline Overnight French Toast by Keni

I've been eyeing this recipe for years and finally made it! And I got serious "Mom points" for making this, mmm's and ummm's from the kids---thanks Keni! :D
I used sliced almonds in the praline instead of pecans, so I added a little almond extract to the custard base. (I LOVE almond and peaches together, one of my favorite food combinations!!)
I only had raw creamed honey, so I used real maple syrup instead. And I accidently used the whole amount in the egg mixture! I knew I was suppose to divide it as I read the directions a bunch of times, but as I was making the custard I just glanced at the amounts and forgot about dividing it! If Keni was still with us she would correct that right away and put "divide" next to the honey amount I'm sure!
For the bread I used a sourdough round that was pre-sliced (my local store is very limited on selection) I weighed the slices so I got exactly a pound. But my slices were 1/2" instead of 3/4" so I just shingled them in the pan.
Keni lists 6-8 eggs, I used 7 as that's exactly how many were left in the carton. And I used 1 cup of milk and 1/2 cup of half & half instead of all half & half.
The French Toast fluffed right up and almost out of the pan while baking! Some of the topping spilled off and burned on the bottom of my oven--oops! It did deflate as it cooled outside of the oven, perhaps six eggs would be better for a 9x13x2" dish. I'll try that next time.
I used canned peaches, 8 peach halves that I sliced (they were tiny halves) and drained them well over paper towels. I drizzled it with maple syrup and it was sooo good, rich, but light and fluffy! I could only imagine how much better this would be with fresh peaches
I thought, "too bad I didn't have whipped cream". So for dessert we had leftovers with ice cream--Yum!
A most delicious recipe that is easy to make, hearty and filling. A winner! :)
