Have had my eye on this recipe for years but have never had all the ingredients. So worth the wait! I was wanting to use fresh bean sprouts since they have a nice crunch you can't get from canned, but my store didn't have them, so I went with the can. Also, I sauted my onions, bell peppers etc. in a little oil before adding the water to cook the noodles. The pork was fall apart delicious! My daughter loved it. I had my little one try a bite at least but he said it was too spicy. So glad to have found a great noodle bowl recipe!!

Your picture looks most scrumptious Michelle. I've never bought canned bean sprouts as I'm lucky that I can get fresh quite readily but I think my Mom used to buy them to put in Chow Mein. Lots of flavours going on in there!

Thank you Janet, still using my cell phone because I keep forgetting to plug in the camera lol. I can usually get fresh bean sprouts, and I saw the tag for them, they were just out :( Canned isn't too bad, just not as good lol.

    It looks delicious!!
I don't think I've seen canned bean sprouts before, will have to look for it! Our store is hit and miss for fresh bean sprouts, or fresh anything for that matter! (I live in a food desert!)
I think I'd crisp up the veg too before adding it to the water, good tip! I bet this would be good with beef stir fry strips or chicken tenders too! :)

Thanks ladies! Shona, if your store has an Asian food section, check there for the canned bean sprouts, that's where I find them. Sending you a virtual bowl Linda! :P
