Apple Loaf

    Recipe by Henrie: Apple Bread/saved
Such a great dessert loaf. House smells wonderful while baking. Lots of good flavor. It's juicy too. The big chunks of apples exude juice when bitten.
Only drawback I see is the batter is very VERY thick. It's not possible to build up any gluten so the loaf will try to break apart unless handled gingerly.
Loaf tests done in the prescribed time but it has a texture like it's not done, but it is. You can see in the pic that the loaf is done. I like the larger chunks of apples this loaf has.
Crumb mixture gives the crust a nice texture. Don't know that the crumb mixture in the middle of the loaf does anything for it. Edges of the loaf have a little crunch too but not quite as much as the top with the crumb mix.

That looks wonderful, pso. My sister just harvested some apples from her own tree. I'm going to show this to her. Thanks for putting it here!

Suggest storing any of this bread not eaten in the fridge because of the baked apple content.
