    Basil Grilled Lamb Chop
I love lamb. I grew up on it as my father raised sheep, and he still does. But, I'm a "lamb purist." I like it with only some seasonings and rosemary - and no mint jelly. But, I have to have rosemary on my lamb. I really liked this recipe, but I missed my rosemary. I gave it five stars because I think its a taste preference, but I'm going back to my seasonings and rosemary. Still, its a tasty recipe and I would recommend it to any lamb lovers.

I have a little place I go to and LOVE their gyros...so good... only way I've had lamb though except one time when I tried a recipe for breaded lamb chops (which were a lot smaller than yours but really thick) and we did seem to just think they were okay, kinda bland. Anyway, I need to try your way with the rosemary, love the stuff!!! That balsamic one looks very flavorful though...great picture too!!!

Thank you, ml2c. It is a very flavorful marinade. I think it probably would work on chicken as well.
I've never had a gyro! I think we have a place in town that makes them. Lamb seems to be the one meat that people either love or hate. It also doesn't help that its rather expensive.

FA, my grandfather raised lambs and the only way I though people ate lamb was the way he cooked it. Roasted in the fire oven seasoned with portuguese paprika, salt, olive oil and wine. Funny how we make our own world of food isn't it? :) I love the diversity around the world.
Girls, excuse me my ignorance, but what is gyro?

Yes, Ana, I just put some garlic powder, salt, pepper, rosemary and maybe some thyme on my lamb and broil it. That's all I want!
A gyro is a meat sandwich kinda thing. Meat and vegetables with tzatziki sauce wrapped in a pita. I think its a Greek taco. :-P I think there are variations as to what meat and vegetables get used.
