TOO vinegar-y! I could have handled it as is but the family would not have touched it. Added some extra stuff to make it taste sweeter. I sauteed up some onions jalapenos(I know raw is better with bbq beef but the hubs objected) and used some gross buns from the freezer.

I don't know what it is about vinegar in a slow cooker, but I always have had problems with it being overpowering in the past. Now, when I see vinegar as an ingredient in a slow cooker recipe, I half the amount. Glad you were able to save it though.

I knew it would be too much when it reads 2 TBS to only 1/2 cup ketchup but I stuck with it. At least it was an easy fix ;)

I have never used vinegar in a slow cooker not that I can remember. Listening to what you have said about it though. I will cut the amount back, if I see it in a recipe.
Thanks for the good information, Ml2c and Frankie:)

Just curious - did you use cider or red wine vinegar?
And, Good4U, if you are a no-no slow cooker lid lifter and stirrer like me, you can always taste and then add more if you think it needs it. :)

Almost used apple cider vinegar then last minute changed my mind and used the red. The cider probably would have been better huh? Not sure....

Yeah, I'm not sure either. I was just wondering. :)
