Recipe by Lovingmybabyalways: German Potato Soup With Dumplings
Today is the first day of a cool front that is the harbinger of fall. What better way to kick it off than with a warming bowl of soup.

This soup, although delicious, has a problem in the dumpling section of the recipe. The measures are unspecific. Lovingmybabyalways really does need to do some editing. In my attempt to fix the recipe I wound up with more dumplings than you can shake a soup spoon at.

Yeah, I see what your talking about! So, the soup was delicious, but how did the dumplings taste?

Another reason why you shouldn't rate a recipe a 5 before you make it.

I wil shut up now. :)

Thanks, pso, and for your honest assessment.

I guess they taste allright. I didn't have any parsely for them. Ran out of flour at that instant and instead of taking the time to open up a new bag of flour, I grabbed the premix biscuit mix container and used it. But the premix has baking powder in there, so the dumplings had some puffiness to them that the recipe didn't call for. I'm thinking the dumplings are supposed to be a little more tougher and waxier than what I ended up with.

I didn't want to critique the dumplings too harshly because of the deviation in ingredient.
I'm just guessing here, but since my 1 stick of butter gave it too much fluid, it should be cut back to 1 tablespoon or teaspoon and tried that way.
