Points...when you made this, did you remember, not to drain the can of pineapples? Did the batter seem moist before you baked it? The reason I'm asking is because I want to try this...

Recipe by Midgelet: Grannys Bananny Cake Aka Hummingbird Cake
The batter was very thick. Talked to Midgelet about it. I used cake flour. It was supposed to be all-purpose flour. I eyeballed the banana measurement. Maybe I was on the short side. My technique for flour measurement may be suspect. I shook the canister to loosen up the flour, then rolled the flour into the measuring cup and leveled with a knife. Maybe the flour needed to be sifted, spooned in, then leveled.

Yes I remembered to leave the juice in the pineapple can. Not much juice in there anyhow.

Go ahead and make the recipe. It wouldn't be the first time I screwed one up.

Thanks Points! I think I'll screw around with it too...I'm thinking of adding cocoa powder to the mix and maybe some sort of chocolate crumb topping. I love chocolate and bananas! This might be a Mother's Day dessert to bring to my Mom's house.

Well I'll just be stupified! Had another piece of cake. It's not crumbly anymore. Maybe it needed a full 24 hours so the crumbs could get together and hold hands.

Maybe I need to get slapped around a little by Midgelet. Time to go kiss some ass.

LOL! Did you wrap it up while it was still slightly warm? Because that could do it also.
