Imbibing Meatballs

These are fantastic! I made a few changes for what I had. Well first off I replaced almond meal for the bread crumbs, personal preference. Was out of Dijon so I just used plain yellow mustard. Opted to use the dried onion flakes because I LOVE the flavor they give to meatballs over fresh onion for some reason lol. I hardly ever have fresh parsley on hand so I used cilantro, yum! Also, didn't have tequila or rum, so I used bourbon! I didn't use the slow cooker I just baked them then threw them in my dutch oven with all of the sauce ingredients and simmered on low for about an hour. If you want to cut back on the honey go for it, I used 3/4 cup and it was sweet so I think even halving it would lend a nice sweet sauce. We loved it though and I served the meatballs over cauliflower rice which soaked up the sauce nicely.

Another stellar photo, Mommyluvs2cook! I would have to leave the spice out or greatly reduce it, but those look yummy!

Thanks Diz and Bakerme! I just eyeballed the amount of spice, I didn't want to overdo it so my daughter couldn't eat it! My littlest one can not handle even the smallest amount of spice, so I just set him a meatball aside and he had some spaghetti sauce poured over his :)

Those look really delicious! That's funny - I only use dehydrated onion for meatloaf. Beautiful picture.
