    Italiano Burger
I've been wanting one of these ever since this recipe was posted but there is no way I can make a recipe that calls for eight burgers! Cleaning out the refrigerator I find some spaghetti sauce, some mozzarella and some garlic bread. My brain instantly (well, almost instantly) remembered this recipe. I had three frozen burgers that I had grilled and put in the freezer last weekend so this was my dinner. Granted, I did not make the actual patty but if this was delicious with a plain ol' beef patty, well it must be super fabulous with the one in the recipe! I still have some more fixings so I may repeat this dinner tomorrow. :-D Added fresh basil from my garden.

That looks really good, Frankieanne! Fontina cheese is a favorite of mine. I'm guessing the burger would taste more like an Italian meatball. Please send some fresh basil my way. I was gone all day yesterday and came home to find a big old caterpillar ate all of mine. Darn it!

Beautiful pic, Frankie! I like the idea of using hamburgers as I don't really care for sausages that much. Boo on your caterpillar DIZ3!

Lovely picture Frankieanne! I'm so glad you tried it, and liked it!

I've made it with regular hamburgers as well, plenty of times ;) It's a comfort food of mine, I've tried recreating what I had as a child/teen and never came as close as the restaurant version. I'm sure the restaurant used regular frozen burger patty's too!

Too bad about your basil Diz! This does make a great meatball sub, I often do that for the kids as it's easier to eat. Make meatballs instead of burger patty's and put it on sub buns :)

Thank you, everyone! Its a really wonderful combination.
I'm glad you have made it with regular burgers, too, Cosmicmother. That makes me feel better. :)
DIZ, I am on my second basil plant. The first one was annihilated by snails. :)
