Lynn210's Slow Cooked Pork Ribs

I tossed this Slow Cooked Pork Ribs in the crock pot early this morning before heading out to work. Now, I have been told different ways to slow cook. Some say to put the meat on top, others say bottom. I find the meat more moist if on top which also alows the juices to drip into the veggies. But then I find that the meat doesnt get as much of the flavor that is in the liquid. So after about 9 hours I came home to flip everything. Cooked on low about13 hours. Oh, BTW, this recipe does not call for veggies. I just love veggies with things like this so I added 3 large russets, 5 carrots, and a large onion. Only had a 2lb package of ribs and it barely fit. I really need a larger crock pot. Oh, and I also used root beer (which I had to kinda "borrow" from work -dont drink much soda) and only used 4T of brown sugar. I figured the 1/2 can of Mug Root Beer would be enough. This was SOOO good. The pork is so juicy and fall apart tender. Great dish. Thanks Lynn210 for a great easy recipe

I don't understand the instructions to cut the ribs into 1/4" pieces. That's awful thin for pork ribs. And I wouldn't discard the liquid. Think I could make it into a gravy and use it on something. That mixture of cola and liquid smoke and meat liquid along with the seasoning flavor should make an outstanding gravy.
    Bought a 7-qt crock a month ago. I'm ready!

I didnt cut the meat small. I actually read that as cut into 4 pieces which I did. I had about 1 cup of liquid. It has tons of flavor. I also forgot to state that I did not use any BBQ sauce. I guess I did alter the recipe quite a bit

That is kind of a weird instruction, pso. That looks like it would make a good sauce without the bbq sauce. I like the brown sugar ingredient, too. Nice call on leaving out the bbq sauce, MrP. It doesn't seem like it would need it.
