Maple Syrup Mustard Glaze For Pork Loin

I made this the other night. I used a 2lb pork sirloin roast. I got ahead of myself and mixed all the ingredients. Without reading all the directions (I seem to have problems with directions), I put the ingredients in a plastic bag and dropped in the frozen roast before leaving for work and let marinade while it thawed. I came home and looked at the recipe. It was then I realized this was meant to be brushed on before and while cooking =O Well. I made another batch to do just that. I grilled mine. (Still gun shy with meat in the oven) I "glazed" just as the recipe instructed. This came out perfect. Great ,crisp, sweet glaze and the pork was tender and juicy. I had a little glazing left that I spooned on after serving. I LOVED this. . I brought in leftovers for lunch today. I have a little buddy there that doesnt see or hear too well. His little nose and tail sure work, though. He got one whiff and was in my office tail going a bajillion miles an hour. 30 minutes after it was all gone he still kept coming back. Great recipe, Frankie. Thanks

Pretty pics! Wow 2 pork roast?! Thats a lot of pork! Leftovers are so much fun to play with though. You could make tacos, put on buns or bread for sandwiches, heck even a pizza! Those ingredients sound great together! Bookmarked, thanks Mr P!

Thanks so much for making this, Mr. P. Those are beautiful pictures. I'm so glad you liked it - along with your little work buddy. Sounds like he eats pretty well! :-)
That's one of my old "pre digital camera" recipes. I've been trying to go back and get pictures on my older recipes. Thanks for putting a picture on it!

Thank you both.........I only made 1, ml2c. I guess it sounds like I did 2. I meant that I just made another batch of glazing. I wish I had made 2 though. A 2 lb roast after cooked is pretty teeny. The left overs were so good. I want to try this with a 4lb or so. Then I will have more left over to even make it to a sandwich

I bought some boneless pork loin chops yesterday specifically to try this recipe... It's on my menu schedule for the weekend. I'm going to try preparing them in a skillet and glazing them while they cook... I've done something similar with strawberry preserves, dijon mustard and balsamic vinegar and so I think this glaze should work just fine. At least I hope. :O

mr p - I've never been much of a grill master. I admire your beautiful results. ;)

GK, I think you will like this dish. That glaze is SOOO good. Especially if you get it to char/crisp. I just finished eating and thinking of this still make my mouth water. Good stuff

Frankie, I think my little work buddy might eat a bit too much. He's pretty round. But pudgy puppies are too cute. I think the more round they get the faster their tails wag, whcih makes it almost impossible not to feed them = ) .......... Plus I think there's a chance his owner spoils him too

Well, there's nothing sweeter than a pudgy, happy, tail-wagging round little doggie. Even if they are spoiled. :)

This is a great recipe for pork, Frankieanne, and yes, mr p I did like it very much. I used it as a marinade as you did. I marinated the pork loin chops for about 10 hours. Then I seared them in a skillet at high heat. I poured the "marinade" into a saucepan and boiled. By that time the chops were brown and I poured it over them (along with a little water) to simmer and glaze. They were perfectly cooked, moist, and tender. The glaze added an excellent taste. I ate them with the Scalloped Tomatoes that I just posted on IMI. It was a good meal... my tummy's happy. :) Pics are on the recipe page...

Found this recipe that I had printed out months ago in the "need to make" pile of my recipes. So glad I made this! I needed a quick, easy dinner so this was a good one. I roasted mine about 30 minutes (it was small) and it was perfect! I added my pic to the recipe collection ;)

Your pic looks great, ml2c. Makes me wish I was having that tonight. Looks like it came out perfectly. Do you print out all the recipes that you make? That must be quite a build up.

Thanks so much for trying it, ml2c, and adding another great picture. This was one of my early recipes when I didn't have a good digital camera. I don't think I'll add one to this though. There are so many other great ones there! So glad it worked out for you.

Yeah Frankie I think your covered on the pictures lol! Mr P I do print out the recipes I plan to make only because I hate my laptop sitting on my counter and the possibility of food getting on it. Do you write yours down? Sometimes something comes up and I can't make what I planned so the recipe gets thrown into my pile of "need to makes". We recently got a TON of paper from staples for a super cheap price (with a rebate) and so I don't feel so bad using so much paper ;)

Oh Mr P. if a recipe goes well instead of keeping the paper I copy it to the computer and get it put on an index card and print, then I laminate it and put it in a recipe box. Good for not wasting paper over and over when I make stuff again.

ML2C, sometimes I will bring my laptop into the kitchen. Mostly I write the ingredients on what I call "my post-its" Its the wrapper to a small Hershey's dark chocolate. So when I need to write the ingredients down I open a candy and write on the inside of the paper. I have to write really small if there a lot of ingredients. Or just have 2 candies : ) The recipes that I like most I save to pdf

lol that's so funny that you use candy wrappers! I do recycle my paper for anyone thinking I'm just a paper waster ;) I was starting to feel guilty after I read my post lol!
