This does sound good. Think I'll put the celery soup on the back burner and get the ingredients for the pizza soup.

Going to use my dough knots recipe instead of the puff pastry.

Just took a look at your dough-knots recipe and it sounds like it would be perfect with this soup! Happy Cooking!!

Forgot to add that I did use less chicken broth to make a thicker soup. Just depends on what you like.

Good to know. I'm defrosting 3 cups broth. Was going to water it down to make 4 cups. Think I would prefer a thicker soup.

The bread dough from the store was all sticky and I couldn't separate the edge to roll it out. Going to have to yell at the store. I know what happened. The can of dough got completely thawed out then re-refrigerated. Someone's getting sloppy with the refrigerated goods.
Could only tear the paper cover half way off before the can exploded open.

Wound up making dough-wads instead of dough-knots.

Good soup. Has a nice Italian flair. I used mild Italian sausage but you can use medium or hot depending on how scorched your taste buds are. It's plenty hot for me with that teaspoon of red chili flakes in the mix.

Got more of a tomatoey taste than a pizza taste on a spoonful every now and then but overall a hearty Italian flavor. Finished that bowl and had another. Put on of my dough-knots in the bottom of the bowl and ladled the soup over it. Now that's the ticket! Having that piece of bread in the bottom of the soup bowl lent a more authentic pizza taste to the soup. It mimics the pizza crust. Here's a link to the dough-knots. A real simple recipe:

    Dough Knots

For some Provolone and some Cheese Whiz, this might just taste like a Philly-cheesesteak soup. Yummers!
