Sloppy Joes

    This recipe is from sanzoe:

    Sloppy Joes

Since we've been watching our carbs around here, I've been skipping the buns and serving this in multigrain wraps. It doesn't take as much to fill up a wrap as it does a bun, so there's some built-in portion control, too. Win-win! See my review for more info.

That looks like a good one. I think the green bell pepper is a better idea than the celery. It would be my preference. I like that pickle juice ingredient. That was my grandma's "secret" ingredient in a couple of her recipes. :-) Nice idea about the wraps! I never would have thought of that.

Frankie, we're not big bread eaters, anyway, and a loaf of bread stored in the freezer will actually get freezer burn from being in there so long, literally several months! We like the wraps for other dishes, too: BBQ pork, Italian beef, scrambled eggs for breakfast for my husband, egg salad for his lunch, chicken salad for an easy dinner, etc. There are only six in a package, so four for two nights of dinner, and two for his breakfast and/or lunch uses them up quickly. My husband said we may never buy bread again! I've been buying the Flatout brand, and they have other flavors besides the multigrain that we like:

I like that Flatout bread too. I don't know why, but never thought of using a wrap for the sloppy joes - great idea!!

We love 'em, Karen, and are always trying to think of new things to put in them.

Mommyluvs2cook, you probably remember sanzoe from when Keni first formed The Refugees group. She was one of our first members. I don't know if she still comes here, but I think of her every time I make her recipe :)

I do remember Sanzoe Bakerme! She hasn't been around in forever though. I think she used to also be on AR but I can't remember for sure.
