Sweetness of the frosting and orange zest shine through.
It was a little dense for me. I'm hoping you can add a little more lift to it.
I didn't have the extra pecan nuggets for garnish. Depleted my supply in the cake. But used fresh orange zest that stands out in the frosting.
Started to spread frosting between layers and got a taste of it, wasn't very impressive.
HA, forgot the powdered sugar. Back in the mixing bowl for the sweetness.

Thanks for trying this cake. I was concerned about it being dense myself but everyone who shared it with me was raving & asking for seconds.. What would you do to get more lift?

The more you grind up the nuts the more dense the cake will turn out. Maybe add a half teaspoon of baking powder. Maybe add a little vital wheat gluten because of the whole wheat flour. Beat the eggs well with the sugar to help incorporate air. Separate yolks from whites. Beat whites stiff and fold into the batter.
