Geeze.... I just saw a good one.. I think in a mag that was given to me during Dolly... I will look and see if I can find.. It was so easy. Or just some simple scallop potatoes with ham.. Hubbies favorite.

If it's cool... make chowder... creamy with potatoes... I can't wait for cool weather. I am so sick of this heat!

Don't laugh at me, ok wynne you can laugh at me, but I would suggest ham hash....It tastes so much like corned beef hash, no one will ever know...and as you can assume what I will say next, - if you take a look at my corned beef hash recipe, you will see hte directions for making ham hash...

then there's quiche, naturally or spaghetti carbonara

I noticed lately the prices of hams was pretty good - I think it is always one of those great buys that go a long way to feeding a crowd.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions........After making that ham last night, I must say that I was very pleased with the enormous amount of meat I got....I will be making one a couple times a month from now on...I could eat it everyday and not get sick of it..

    Diva....I did laugh!!!!

Oh and one last idea... once the ham is finished = throw it in a pot of split peas and a large diced onion to make really good split pea soup - I do that most often when I have a ham.... the little bits of meat still left on the bone, come off during the cooking and add extra great flavoring to the soup. Watch for salt though, since the ham is already salty.

Do this either in a crock pot/slow cooker or on top of the stove.

It too hot for a casserole (even in England!), why not try a quiche lorraine or if you don't want to faff around with pastry, a ham and feta cheese frittata made with zuccini, peas, braod beans and mint served warm with a big bowl of salad and maybe some potato salad with chives or warm crushed potatoes moistened with extra virgin olive oil and cumin seeds or chives. Personally I love cold ham, oven baked chips (as in fat fries) and cole slaw ooooooooooo yuuummmmm. Can't agree more about the time out, I now copy everything before I hit post!

    PAM Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
8 ounces dry large elbow macaroni, uncooked
1 can (14.5 oz each) Hunt's Petite Diced Tomatoes, drained
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    3 tablespoons Fleischmann's Original Margarine-stick
    3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1 cup whole milk
2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (2 cups = 8 oz)
    2 cups chopped cooked ham
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

    Directions
Preheat oven to 375F. Spray 8x8-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Combine tomatoes and baking soda in medium bowl; set aside.
Melt Fleischmann's in large saucepan over medium-low heat while pasta is cooking. Stir in flour; gradually add milk, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add cheese; stir until melted. Add tomatoes to cheese mixture; blend well. Drain macaroni; add to saucepan. Stir in ham, salt and pepper.
