Celebratory Saturday!

Good Morning Everyone! It's a most lovely morning here in the Ottawa Valley (albeit a bit chilly....4C/39F! Jim made me a lovely breakfast birthday....fried egg, peameal bacon with toast and o.j. (plus I snuck a chocolate covered strawberry too) :)

Going to The East India Company restaurant for lunch today
    http://www.eastindiaco.com/menus/
and then we're going to pick up a couple of nice rib eyes to BBQ for dinner this evening. I've already got the bubbly chilling too. :)

Will post a pic of the flower arrangement my Mom sent me for my birthday.

It was a garland that I purchased at Pier 1 Karen, not a wreath per se. I'll take a pic of it near Canada Day when I've decorated with it. :) It's 5 ft. long and made of felt maple leafs connected to each other.

    Wishing everyone a great Saturday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANET! I love the flowers your mom sent, they are beautiful! Have fun and enjoy your special day!
Nothing much happening here today. I haven't decided what I am having for dinner tonight. Den will have his normal BBQed cheeseburgers and oven fries. We will probably be working outside this afternoon b/c it is such a beautiful day.
    Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

Awfully quiet in here today! WAKEY-WAKEY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!! :)

Thanks Shona! Feeling any better today?

Thanks Linda! I've had a lovely day thus far thanks. Did you get all your software uploaded?

Didn't end up going to the Indian Restaurant after all as we got a late start from home. Took a jaunt to Almonte and picked up two of those handheld Hummingbird feeders I was talking about this past week. Then ended up having lunch at The Heirloom Cafe.

It was lovely. Popped in to some stores and walked around. The sunshine is so nice.
Home now and time for a hot tub I think.

Happy Birthday Janet. The flowers are beautiful. Can't wait to see the garland pictures when you finish.

Hi Joce, Ellie, Shona, and Linda.

Had a fire call at 2:30 this morning, back to be at 4:00 and up at 7:30 to go to an auction.
We spent far too much money. Wayne got some nice deals and spent more than he wanted on some other items. Most of it was big farm equipment that we either already had or could not afford! Fall auctions tend to be less pricey for hay-related stuff. I did find a nice .22 LR pistol that simply jumped into my hands and felt so-o-o-o good!

GS is in a swim meet in Illinois for the longer course swims. He placed # 13 out of 96 in the first event, good for a newbie. He loves the water and really works at perfecting his stroke. At this stage of the game, I would be doing good to stay above water. Ha ha!

It is a beautiful, sunny day, temp in the 70's. Next week they are again calling for rain and possible severe weather. The past few times they called for that we got about ten raindrops. Sigh.

No idea what we are having for supper - ate out and I had 1/2 rack of BBQ ribs, cole slaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, BBQ beans (hot and spicy). I was stuffed. Wayne had the honey baked pork chops. No desire to cook tonight so we will probably just have a sandwich or something extremely light.

    Have a nice day everyone.

Ugh at the 2:30 Fire call Karen. Am guessing it wasn't anything bad. Fun @ the auction. Congrats to your GS at the swim meet! Your lunch sounded wonderful.

Off to prep dinner. Really not hungry. :)

Happy your enjoying your day Janet!

Hi everyone! Went and got my hair cut and colored this a.m., trying to grow it in from a horribly, way too short (shorter than most guys) haircut end of October. Obviously changed stylists and much happier with the person I'm working with now but my hair needs to grow a bit more before I have what I want.

New computer is up and running but I'm having some "concerns" with the keyboard and mouse. I've adjusted their temperament but still having issues with some screen freezing and keyboard and mouse communicating to screen. Wireless is nice not having all the wires but connectivity was much nicer with wires. Also organizing my bookmarks because when they were transferred from the old computer everything got messed up. Haven't loaded any additional software but will once I get these things straightened out. It'll get done in all good time.

Nice on GS placing 13th Karen! It's great!

Took out steaks from the freezer, thawed, and grilled with steamed asparagus and baked sweet potato.. Freezer is getting low so will need to restock soon.

I so hear you on the close cut Linda. That happened to me last year and I was HORRIFIED! The stylist cut it shorter than my husband's!!!!!! It was horrible and it took a long time to get it long enough to style it properly like I like it. Shaking head.
That sounds weird that your screen is freezing. Your wireless should be as equally communicative as it was when it was wired. The only time I have issues at all is when the batteries are running low in my mouse or keyboard. Your dinner sounds wonderful. I had a fantastic Chipolte sweet potato soup today. Could have stood a bit of heat, but....:)

Supper was scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. Neither of us was very hungry and we have a zillion fresh eggs to use. Chickens are still productive. The rooster is fitting in well, he is young and still learning to protect his charges. He is red - yellow - brown - gray all mixed in together. Very pretty.

Ugh on the wireless issues and the too-short haircut, Linda. Mine is way too long now and in need of a good styling. Love asparagus and top sirloin steak. Chipolte sweet potato soups sounds good, too, Janet.

Enjoy what is left of the day. I hot shower and early bedtime is calling. It has been a long day.

Hi everyone, I'm pooped, it's been a long day. Had a Girl Scout event today called the "She and Me" it's a Mommy daughter event we do every year and it's always something different. This year it was painting a piece of wood then personalizing it. We did "The West Family" and we are going to hang it on our front porch or even attach it to a post and stick it in the flower bed. After that was a birthday party at a skating rink. It was an unusually long party (3 1/2) hours and I was SO ready to go! Bri went home with the birthday girl to have a slumber party. Came home and made "lobster scampi" with some lobster I found on sale yesterday, $4.97 a tail! Bought 4 and froze two. Once again I will go back and read the post to catch up :) Hope everyone had a great day!

That's a lovely dinner Karen. I haven't done Breakfast for dinner in a long time and it's always a good choice. Nice that the rooster is fitting in well. Take a pic of him one day for us please!
About to have a Skype call with Benjamin.
Sleep sweet all. Miss ya' Kimmer!
