culinary question?

    Hi all, hope everyone is having a great Wednesday. To the question...
    I want to make Osso Bucco with beef shank instead of veal (looked at the price and almost fell on the floor, so opted for beef). I have made it with veal and always use white wine. I am wondering with beef if I should use red instead? Just wondering if anyone has tried it with beef shank, what they used and what they recommend ?

    I thought red wine would be better. Friends of ours are bringing their parents who are from Nova Scotia , Am worried already as I have never met the parents. Thought I would serve this with my garlic chive mashed potatoes, a simple mixed green salad, whole grean beans, and a nice baguette from the bakery. Desert is up in the air.....but am thinking something light and lemony. Thank you!

    Thanks Pleclare, I have to start putting picks up with my recipes. The hubby is the camera/computer guy outside of the kids. He keeps promising, lol I think it's called procrastinating. Think I should get tough and tell him to get with it or the cook is hanging up her apron till he does.

    Actually, the oldest is 18 and done high school now. She is confused about what she wants to do for the rest of her life and is taking a year off to THINK, as she says. She moved in with girlfriends on Monday,,,,she's working full time retail, as they all are and rented a house. I miss her terribly....lol...think I need to learn how to text. She's already come home and raided the fridge already thouhg....lol.....the other half calls them the llittle fashionistas.

    Optimistic, I figured my Mr. SuchAFuss would take the food pics for me as he really is an excellent photographer. However, he sucks at food pictures. Mine are not great art but they seem to get the information across to the viewers eye. I say take your own pictures because you are the one that knows what you think best represents the dish visually.
