More Turkey Thursday.....

  • chuckieb 4 years ago
Good Morning Everyone! It's another gray rainy day on my end. I am meeting up with my girlfriend Tina in Almonte today for lunch. I'll bring my umbrella along for sure as we'll also poke in to the shops. :)

Heating up some turkey leftovers for dinner this evening. IF I get home in lots of time I'd like to make a batch of
    Pumpkin Cookies With Chai Icing

I started a new book yesterday. It's for my Book Chat next month at the library. It's called 'The Nightingale' by Kritin Hannah. I'm lovin' it so far.

Think I'll just have a sesame seed bagel with cranberry jelly for brekkie. Wishing everyone a terrific Thursday!

Pumpkin spice is a major flavour player this time of year and I was amused to see yesterday in Sobey's that Oikos yogurt has a limited edition pumpkin spice flavoured yogurt on the shelves. LOL.

    Good Morning Everyone.

We got heavy rain early this morning around 7:00 but it only lasted about 10 minutes or so. Suns out now but it's probably going to be a humid day.
Will go to the gym later and I'll see if I need anything at the grocery store after. Not sure what to make for dinner.
Moen sent the parts for the faucet repairs and they are not the right parts. Even I can see they are not right so I called them again and this time I insisted on the entire faucet sets, not just parts, and so they will be sent.

I have a sister in NJ and another in NC Janet. NC is so much more affordable to live and even the houses are nicer but everyone I know is in NJ or across the river in PA. NJ and PA are expensive areas not only for homes but taxes too which is making finding something not so easy.
Do let us know how you like the book the Nightingale. I've had my eye on it for sometime but always go for the 'older' time periods. I believe they are making a movie based on the book.
Tis the season for pumpkin spice everything. LOL!

The baby is very close to making his debut to the world Kimmer. I'm sure you all are on pins and needles waiting for the big moment. Just a few more days.

Good Morning Linda! Oh my goodness at Moen's ineptitude!!! Shaking head. Good for you getting them to finally send you new faucet sets but it probably cost you some high blood pressure points. :) I wish you much success finding a home back in NJ or PA. Having 'peeps' close by is a real positive.

Stopped in Whole Foods after the gym and got a rotisserie chicken for dinner. I'll make a salad and maybe another veg to go with it. Also bought a few ingredients that I needed so I can make this soup.

DH has an eye doctor appointment in the morning for pre cataract surgery on the 31st. After we will get breakfast out (Cracker Barrell so I can get my beloved wild blueberry buttermilk pancakes) and I'll make the soup later in the afternoon.

Now you have me craving Rotisserie Chicken Linda! :) Have you made that soup recipe before? It looks AWESOME! I'd puree the potatoes and veg and have little chunks of sausage floating around in it to protect my inner vegetable hater. LOL. Good luck to your DH at his eye doctor appointment in the morning. YUMMERS on blueberry pancakes. Haven't had those in a long time.

I had a super nice day. Goodness girlfriend time is good for the soul isn't it! :) Tina and I met at noon in Almonte and walked one side of the main street and then went for lunch. Almonte has a ton of really cute little shops. We had lunch at
    http://www.heirloomcafe.ca/
and we both had the Monte Cristo sandwich with the soup of the day which was like coconut milk, butternut squash, pear something. The whole thing was perfect. It poured rain the whole time and the lunch was so fallish. :) It was lovely. We had a great catch up. Did the opposite side of the street after lunch. I came home with a squirrel decoration (wearing a cute little fall scarf and holding an acorn) and a pkg. of serviettes with foxes on them. :)

Made the pumpkin cookies and will ice them tomorrow morning. They turned out perfectly. I have enough pumpkin pie filling left for a second batch too so I'll make those up on the weekend probably and then freeze them as we're having more company the beginning of Nov. :)

Our turkey leftovers for dinner were awesome. Totally hit the spot and I didn't have to do a thing. Tomorrow night I will actually have to cook dinner!!! LOL.

Ugh on being without power Laurie (saw it on FB) Hope it comes back on for you soon. How are your treatments going?
