Mucky Monday

Good Morning Everyone! It poured rain last night and thundered and lightening. Crazy! Still drizzling now I think. We're about to grab a bite to eat and then set off. A long driving day today (+7 hours). Have a reservation in Sault. St. Marie this evening.

Hope everyone has a great day! I'll touch base tonight undoubtedly.

Laurie, sounds like Frank had a Grand Celebration. You should post the recipe for the Key Lime Martini. Sounds deelish!

Oh! We tried the black cheese yesterday afternoon and it was wonderful!!! Going to try get some more as soon as we get back. :)

We had lots of rain, thunder, and lightning last night as well, Janet. Parts of Ottawa are without electricity as well and the road to Packenham is closed due to flooding. So nice they had such a lovely tribute to Jim's Uncle and were also thoughtful enough to have a birthday cake for everyone with a birthday at this time of the year. Sending safe comfortable driving for you today.

Not much happening here today. We are supposed to get more rain for the next few days. There is already a big pool of water in our backyard. UGH! Dinner will be chicken something.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

    Good Morning everyone.

We too had lots of rain last night. I was sound asleep when the wind kicked up and the heavy downpour started around 1:00 a.m., it woke me up and then I had trouble falling back asleep and didn't till around 3:30. Ugggh. I'm tired today but because I have a doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon and DH has one the next afternoon going to the gym is a must today because we haven't been since Thursday.
It's overcast this morning so who knows if more rain is coming. As least it cooled off and temps are mid 70s(f). Haven't opened a door yet to know of the humidity.

Travel safe Janet. 7 hours is a looooong drive.

I guess your ground is still frozen Joce so the water is sitting. I hope more rain doesn't bring about too many more flooding problems.

Hope your trip back is uneventful weather wise Janet.

Joce, I saw the pix on FB of the flooding. Mother Nature can be a real tyrant!

It is sunny and 51F outside. A beautiful day. Storms are expected Wednesday, though.

I have to get moving, mop he floor and get the fire Dept minutes ready. Mauser is in for a rude awakening as she will soon have to leave my lap so I can get some work done.

Wayne is at the chiropractor getting his pinched nerve worked on. Hopefully it will improve some more. He said the last treatment he felt something snap or give and has improved steadily ever since. Fingers crossed.

Morning everyone! Have a safe drive Janet. The black cheese sounds too cool, sounds like something I'd totally try :)

Ugh on all the rain Joce. Hope it doesn't get too bad for y'all.

Last week a guy hit my truck in the parking lot of Caiden's karate :(. He claimed since it was in a private parking lot nothing would be done. What a jerk! He refused to give me his insurance or name. Cops came out and did a police report. Had to have our truck towed since our driver door was so messed up it wouldn't close. Still waiting on insurances to hash it out. So right now I'm driving a rental and we are having to pay everything out of pocket until his insurance let's us know what's happening. I don't see why they wouldn't find him at fault and my insurance lady said the parking lot thing is a myth that people seem to think.

At the gym getting some aggression out lol, then Michael and I have some running around to do. Today is his first day off in 18 days! Thinking about making some homemade pizza for dinner but still not 100 % sure yet. Have a great day everyone!!

And just like that the sky is clear blue and the sun is shinning. Who knows what it'll be like in an hour. LOL!

I think Wayne is on his way to feeling better. Your chiro sounds amazing Karen! Sounds like you are feeling a bit better too.

What a jerk the guy was who hit your car Michelle! Wow! What difference does it make where the accident occurred, it's his fault, and his insurance should pay. Unbelievable what people try to get away with.

SP Linda. Have a productive afternoon at the gym!

What an idiot damaging the door like that, Michelle,....he had to have been going far too fast or not looking where he was going. Hoping your insurance company gets after him. The parking lot is a privately owned area, yes, but a police report was wise because they can at least have an official record of what happened.

Guess Spring is the time for rain and flooding. Nebraska has been hit hard and ranchers lost lots of cattle, esp new calves. Flood season sure seems upon us. As I have said before, our house is on a ridge so an ark would have to be commissioned if we ever had flooding! Although there were times we could not access the back half of our land when we had heavy rain.

Time to get back to work laundry is ready for the drier and I MUST try mopping the floor!

    Have a good day.

Bummer on not sleeping well, Linda:( Nice that your sky is now clear. It is dreary here.

Take it easy doing the floor, Karen. We don't want you overdoing things.

How awful, Michelle! Did you get his license number at least! What a creep. It would be nice if you had a witness or two wouldn't it? I would ask around the Karate people to see if anyone say it. Wow at it being Michael's first day off in 18 days!

Just saw the news report. Norte Dame Cathedral in Paris has burned. No one was injured but the Art works inside were priceless. We did visit there back in the 80’s. It was quite a magnificent structure.

We saw the news about the flooding near Pakenham on FB this morning Joce!!! Wow!

Hope Wayne made out well at the Chiropractor Karen. Back pain is SO tiresome!!! Wow on cows getting killed because of flooding in Nebraska!!!! You are so lucky to have visited Notre Dame Cathedral. I never have. Our niece is over in France as an exchange student and is heading to Paris in a week or so. That was on her list of places to see. :(

Oh my goodness Michelle on your truck getting hit and SO hard on top of it all!!! And the guy was a major total jerk!!!! Unreal! Your truck is pretty new too I think eh? Absolutely the parking lot thing is a total falsehood! How old was this per

We had a LONG day but a good one. Left St. Catharines by 9:30. Ate lunch in Parry Sound at a cute spot owned by cousins of Bobby Orr (Hockey star). It had a little deli and meat shop attached that even sold Lingonberries! (Kassler too!)

Reached Sault St. Marie by about 6:30. Walked to a restaurant called 'Fratelli's that Trip Advisor had recommended. Sure felt good to stretch our legs (and yes we got our 10,000 steps in for the day) :) We shared a Mexican pizza. It was really fabulous.

Tomorrow we head out for Thunder Bay. Not quite as long of a drive. The roads were great today as was the weather so we couldn't have asked for better travelling conditions. Night all! :)
