GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!! It feels so awesome to be able to be drinking my morning coffee and chatting with you guys again! Jim and I are at the Rossport Cabins in Rossport at the moment. Quite cozy and we've known the owners for about 20 years (just from past trips through) so it's like old home week. When we checked in last night they told us to go back and have an after dinner drink with them when we were finished at the restaurant. So nice to catch up. Benjamin used to play with their son when they were kids. There is a railway right close by and you hear the trains at night. We love it. They used to have a fantastic restaurant and an Inn which we adored but they have slowed their pace and now just rent the cabins. It's a happy place of ours.

We'll head to Schreiber for breakfast. Despite our big dinner last night I'm hungry. :)

Hopping in the shower. Mom only has a bath tub and her water smells like iron so I am very excited about a shower this morning. :)

Pic of Jim and I taken a couple of days ago at the Potluck which was such a fun time and then a close up of a juvenile eagle. We saw a ton around Rainy River. Pics a bit blurry but I was very excited to get one at all. :)

    Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Everyone!! Good Morning Janet!!

So good to see you here this morning. Happy too to hear all is well. Love the picture! You both look so happy and it's apparent you're having a great time. Good for YOU!

After my cup of coffee this a.m. I started a pot of Italian Wedding Soup. It's an easy soup to make, it's just a little time consuming to roll little teeny weeny meatballs and since I refuse to use my oven (because it's spotlessly clean) I cooked my teeny weeny meatballs in the counter toaster oven. Took me three trays as opposed to one but it's all good and the soup is done, smells amazing, and we're looking forward to a bowl.
Not much else planned for today other than some cleaning and laundry and giving the dog a bath.
    Enjoy!

Morning! It's so good to see you Janet! The cabin does sound cozy and it's nice that you got to catch up with the owners 😁 lol glad you finally get a non-iron smelling shower. Love the picture of you and Jim and wow on the eagle pic.!

Italian wedding soup sounds delicious Linda, and lol I don't blame you not wanting to dirty up your oven 😝

Michael and I got out early and mowed this morning. Since I was already sweaty I decided to come to the gym but now I'm regreting it...too much! Oh well, at least Caiden gets to play in the kid watch...he loves that place! Later on we are having a big family get together at T-bone Tom's where we will all be meeting my Sister's new boyfriend...no pressure on him lol. Here is the menu:

I LOVE your Italian wedding soup recipe Linda. Can't wait to make another batch come autumn.

Very fun that the clan are meeting for dinner at T-Bone Tom's Michelle. Cute name for a restaurant. I think I may have asked before but what is an armadillo egg? And what are steak fries? and steak fingers? Have fun! Hope your sister's boyfriend enjoys the evening.

Jim and I just arrived at Batchawana Bay a short time ago. That resort with the German restaurant that we stayed at on the way out as well. Think we'll both have Schnitzel and Spatzle this evening. :)

Thank you for the compliment regarding my Italian Wedding Soup Janet. This batch turned out well and DH asked for seconds at lunch (which he never does!). I know steak fries are thick wide cut French fries.
I love good German food and sadly we don't have any good German restaurants any where near and you would think for an area that welcomes a large German population tourist season we would, but we don't.
DH and I went out to dinner tonight at our favorite upscale restaurant. We both had kale Caesar salads and I had their chicken dish with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts and DH had their filet mignon with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It all sounds ordinary enough but the presentation and the way the dishes are prepared set them apart and above the rest. Topped it off with an espresso, coffee for DH, and we shared a piece of key lime pie made with an oreo crust. I'm stuffed!

Your hubby's dinner sounded wonderful Linda. I'm afraid I am not a fan of kale or brussel sprouts. :) Nice on key lime pie. You know, I don't think I've ever tried that and I love lime.

I indeed ordered the Weiner Schnitzel and it came with mashed potatoes and a salad with a nice house dressing. Jim shared a bit of his spatzle with me. He ordered the Hungarian goulash with potatoes and a salad and spatzle. Their portions are so huge that we totally have enough for another lunch. And we're stuffed.

Decided to stay at Bruce Mines tomorrow. It's not far and then we'll strike out for Ottawa on Monday. We're going to try out some cottages on Bruce Bay that a friend recommended. May even go fishing.

Too funny, Brussels sprouts are my favorite veggie! Their kale salad is so unique, they make it with the purple/green kale and the dressing is mild for a Caesar dressing. They put bacon bits and toasted hazel nuts in it. I'm not a fan of key lime pie which is why I split it with DH. He eats very little dessert and I shouldn't so between us both its enough.

Nice on the German dinner choices! Have fun at your next stop and looking forward to hearing more about it.
