After a month of 80 degree days, we woke in the 60's this morning. Into the 40's tonight.
    I love it.

Hot meatloaf sandwiches with roasted tomato pepper soup. Peach dump cake. Sisters are coming over for dinner.

    I have laundry to do.

Janet, hope your back gets better soon. Rest up!
Laurie, good wishes to finding a new job
Karen, I'm with you on Sunrise Easter services. I like having the rest of the day free..
Busy Busy Marie, hugs dear you hard working woman.
Joce, have a lovely weekend. Any family visiting?
Shona, thanks for the selling tips. Hope everybody gets well soon.
Michelle, I'm sure your weekend is packed. Good luck with the running.

    Have a great weekend.

Good Morning Tina! Nice on your temps. I know you prefer it cool! :) Your dinner sounds wonderful. Comfort food for a family gathering. My back is taking its sweet time repairing. Argh.
Jim and I ate up all the leftovers in the fridge last night, changed into our p.j.'s, lit a fire and were all cuddled up watching "Vikings" (LOVE that show) when the phone rang. It was an old school chum of mine and her significant other who live in Sudbury and were just outside of Ottawa on their way to spend the weekend with their daughter who works at one of the hospitals here. They wanted to meet us in town for a drink but I convinced them to stop into our place on their way through which was much less effort for us. :) So they showed up around 9:15 and we had a lovely catch up. And yes, we did change back into regular clothes before their arrival. :)
I have a parcel to go pick up at the post office this morning. I believe it should be the Swedish cookbook I ordered from Barnes & Noble so am very pumped. Need to run a few errands and perhaps we'll go out for lunch.
Making baked Buffalo wings for dinner. It's another Sens Game this evening. Need to think of sides. Perhaps Ang's
    Cabbage Slaw
It's a bright blue sky and sunshine morning but still chilly....-10C/14F.
My Mom used to do a fair amount of canning Karen. Beets, pickles, salmon as well as making jams and relishes and such. It was always fun to see the shelves full down in the basement.
Congrats to Bri on their win yesterday Michelle. That was quite the score! Awesome on the smoked sausage. Hope you manage to score some! :)
    Wishing everyone a great day.

It is nice to hear you are having cooler weather, Tina. I bet it feels quite refreshing. When it is hot for long periods of time I find it can drag you down. Your dinner sounds yummy to me! I would love some of that peach cobbler dump cake.

Sorry to hear your back is still giving you grief, Janet:( Take it easy again today if you can. Nice you had some time to visit with your friends this morning. I can't wait to hear about that Swedish cookbook. Have a good jaunt about today. Chicken wings and coleslaw are excellent game foods. GO SENS GO! I feel like I jinxed them the other night by watching the game. So I might not watch it tonight.

Den did the grocery run and beer run this morning and is now putting things away. he will have his normal cheeseburgers and oven fries and I am having Chinese take-out.

    Wishing everyone a pleasant day!

    Good morning ladies!

Tina, your dinner sounds wonderful..I adore meatloaf sammies:) Have a nice dinner tonight:)
Oh I'm not THAT hard of a worker..I just think I am:) Just the driving around with Rick and all the stops etc wears me out. The opener job yesterday was pretty fun..not. We got there and their garage was packed full of stuff, frickin cobwebs everywhere..I wiped down the door and swept out what I could with a broom Rick keeps in the back of his truck..they didn't understand he needed room to assemble the opener and also have room to work with ladders. They lived in an upscale neighborhood near Bidwell Park (I would kill for their house BTW) So we helped move all of the crap away from the area he was going to work in..then the man tells him he wanted a time delay console..Rick told him he didn't realize that..the man told him he asked for that, Rick told him he was sorry but he didn't hear him ask for that..anyhoo, we are having another console UPS'd to us..the next time Rick is in Chico he can install it..that is the first time anyone has asked for that console..it is timed to close the door minutes after using it..it's for people who forget to close their door..like Rick told him (since the man stated his Mercedes was vandalized recently), it's not that safe, people can get into your garage if left open..no matter, to each his own. Also, we believe, even with the safety beams, you should always be present when putting the GD down. Anything can happen..

Janet, how cool your school chum came for a visit:) Too cute..you changed into your "regular" clothes! I probably would have left the jammies on! LOL
Ang's Cabbage Slaw looks sooooo good, I bookmarked that one! Love cabbage anything! It's been in the high 70's here, 80's in the valley..I was hot yesterday in my capri's and tee shirt yesterday..I cannot handle shirts with sleeves when it's warm..tank tops are my main wardrobe for warmer weather:) Funny, I think it's been hot, but when it gets to 100 and above, I'll be wishing for the 70's again! Hope your back gets better soon.

Dinner? Don't have a clue. We had leftover burgers and a salad last night....

    A big hello to everyone:)

Hi Joce! It was last night my friends showed up, not this morning.....that being said, I would have still been in my p.j.'s this morning too. :) The cookbook is BEAUTIFUL. I have set it aside to peruse through slowly later when I can give it my full attention. :) It is cloth bound and a very handsome book. :) I don't believe in jinxing hockey games so do watch it if you feel like it. We can use all the cheering we can get. And it's against Toronto so you know how that is. :) Yum on both the cheeseburger and the Chinese take out. Jim has a craving for dumplings so I'm making him some Wonton soup for lunch. Tomorrow we are taking a jaunt to Smiths Falls. I checked out Trip Advisor as we may eat lunch there and came across a European cafe that I think you've mentioned being at before. "My Place"? They don't appear to have a website so I'm not sure if they're open on Sundays. My second choice was "The Good Life Bistro and Bakery".
Ugh on the garage yesterday being full of junk Marie. Perhaps it's because I worked in retail all my life I am totally aware of making things as easy for people who come to do things as possible. Their time is way better spent doing their job as opposed to mine! The time delay console wouldn't work for me. The squirrels and birds would be in there by the dozens before the door closed. :) Holy smokes on it being so warm there that you're hot in capris and a tank top! Have a fun trip to Chico. Will you pop in to see your parents while you're there?
Where's the wedding being held Laurie? It sounds like fun. Good luck with the job hunt.

Back home from the prepper expo. We got some samples of freeze dried food and a book or two. Also went to a few seminars. Home security - uses of hemp in food and construction industry - raised bed gardening - disaster preparation. It was interesting. Sheriff Mack was supposed to speak on followig the Constitution, but he had a heart attack recently so they had another guy sub for him. I wish I had bought one of his books!

I am curled up in my recliner with a blanket and my iPad. Wayne just started a fire and we are waiting for the stove to warm up. We ate at Dowd's Catfish on the way home. Wayne had pulled pork and I had the Senior combo (two pieces each of catfish, with cole slaw, mashed potatoester, and pinto beans. I had raspberry tea to drink, love the stuff! Wayne usually has water but he was in the mood for coke.

Mel has landed on my arm so one finger typing is all I can manage!

The snow last night turned the ground white but was gone by the time we got home. It was more than they expected. I enjoyed it! That will probably be the last one until next winter.

    Hope everyone has avoid evening!

We're home, have been for a few hours..just being lazy watching movies:) The couple this morning had 5 garage doors..I believe that's the 1st time I've ever seen 5 GD's on a house..Rick said he's put in 7 doors on a house a few years back..I would need one of those time delayed consoles with 7 doors..unbelievable..to me anyway, I'm just a country bumpkin I guess! LOL He has another call tomorrow morning...he likes to get to people when they call if he can, otherwise, they might just call another company:)

LOL Karen:) I try hard to not "avoid" my evenings:-D Envious that you're still getting Winter weather:)

Joce, yes, we sure do run into just about everything you could imagine..it's all good..we usually just make room for Rick to do the job..just amazes me that people aren't prepared:)

Janet, you sound just like us..we're always super duper prepared for anything being done around the house:) I agree, the time delay wouldn't work for us either..there would be all kinds of critters in the garage here as well! Yes, we did stop by my parents since we were on that side of town..I forgot to mention, I mowed for them this past week for the 1st time this year! LOL The "mowing" season has begun!

We had chicken & noodles for dinner..easy peasy:)
