Cabbage Slaw Recipe
Missouri Best of the Best .. A fun new way to make slaw. Cook time is 2 hours chilling, unless you want to chill for a couple of days...

Ingredients
  • 1 head cabbage, chopped
  • 8 green onions, chopped
  • 2 (3 oz) pkg uncooked Ramen noodles (broken up)
  • 2-3 Tblsp butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 4 Tblsp sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 6 Tblsp rice vinegar

Directions
  1. Toss cabbage, onions and noodles together.
  2. DO NOT add seasoning packet to noodles.
  3. In a small skillet, melt butter and stir in sesame seeds and almonds.
  4. Saute until lightly browned.
  5. Toss with the cabbage mixture.
  6. Combine sugar, oil, pepper, salt and rice vinegar in a blender, mix well.
  7. Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and toss.
  8. Chill, stirring frequently.
  9. Can be made 2 or 3 days in adveance.

I have a similar recipe called Summer Sumi Salad. Great anytime since there is no mayo.


Going to give this a try tonight! Think it will be good with our fish & chips. Now all I have to do is find where I put those Ramon noodles I bought about fifteen year ago...Better go look now, Bye.
