Snowless Saturday

    Good morning

The dire predictions passed us by. Just cold and damp. Schools in this area are in session.

The photos are Fritz in his favorite position in Wayne's old recliner, (not sideways of course LOLOL) and the RV in its new home. We have finished settling it in and the truck is back in the garage where it belongs.

Fritz is not as fond of the new recliner. It is less bulky and can't quite get comfortable. We let him know life has its ups and downs and he does not chose Furniture for us.

Good Morning Karen! Glad the bad weather went a different direction and missed you. That's an interesting position that Fritz takes in Wayne's recliner. LOL. He certainly looks quite comfortable. Well I must say I am very tickled that someone other than myself got the day of the week wrong. If people were betting who did the post today I'm sure my name would pop up first. LOL!

Goodness it's just so DREARY looking outside. Totally cloudy and gray. Feel like I haven't seen the sun in months. LOL! :)

It's very warm out. 9C/48F. We're supposed to get light rain this morning and then a flash freeze this afternoon with a lot of snow forecast overnight. Joce did Den work from home today?

Jim and I were planning on going to a movie this afternoon but would prefer to be back home by the time the deep freeze arrives as it'll make the roads extremely icy. So we've decided to go in to McDonald's for breakfast and then run some errands. I need to get my haircut badly and we need some groceries. We'll try for a hot tub earlier on in the day. We might rent a movie through Pay-per-vu tonight. We've been wanting to see Churchill and Victoria and Abdul which I 'think' are on Pay-per-vu now.

Jim says he's going to make a batch of Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup for our dinner this evening. This morning I've made up a quick menu incase we get snowed in for the weekend. That way I'll be all prepared. No Sens Hockey Games until next Thursday!!! so we may go into withdrawal.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Waiting for coffee. Wayne is awake and Fritz is in front of the heater.

Now the weather forecast is hinting of snow tomorrow. We may have real winter yet. No ice, please!

Between my goofy iPad and slow internet, posting pictures is a trip. I consider it a success when they are right side up. Ha ha! Usually very early in the morning is best. Today was a bit later, it took FOREVER to download two pictures.

Good Morning Everyone. Here in Florida it's still Friday (LOL!)

Finally got a good night's sleep and slept for 10 hours! Hoping too it's the end of sleepness nights. I do not function well when I have not slept. I tried to lay down and take a nap yesterday but I was so tired it was hard to sleep.
Plans today are to go to the gym and would like to stop in the grocery store.

SP. Hey, Janet, it is Thursday somewhere. Ha ha.

There is no way to edit the thread title so I guess I am stuck with it.

Both of us have, I guess, switched days in the title once before. I don't feel quite so bad since someone else has done it. My name will be right next to your's on the list of guess-who-did-it. LOL!

Agree staying home this afternoon is wise, Janet. Icy roads are no fun.

    Enjoy your movie!

Hi Linda. Good to hear you finally got some sleep. I feel like a zombie if I miss out on sleep!

That's good the bad weather passed you by Karen. Would have been nice to get some rain but you surely don't need it if it's going to freeze.
Silly Fritz, dogs sure do sleep in "odd" positions. Nice cover for the RV!

Good idea to get out early Janet and back home before the weather turns. Good that Jim got some of the snow off the roof with more coming. The soup sounds great! If you watch any of the movies you mentioned let us know how they are. We recently watched Logan Lucky and the previews looked so good but the movie wasn't.

I'm thinking about trying a no-yeast dough next time I make pizza Michelle. Since we like really thin crispy crusts I'm thinking it may work. Looking forward to seeing what you post for your recipe.

So sorry to hear about the Bath Bomb problem Kimmer. Not your fault at all but I know you still feel bad.

You have me craving ham Joce. I keep looking for a small boneless one I can slice myself but everything is spiraled/sliced and so thin ... better for a sandwich than a dinner.

Very happy to hear you got a solid sleep last night Linda! That's great. Go you at the gym. I haven't heard about "Logan Lucky". I'll have to google it.

Morning! Glad the snow missed y'all Karen. Wow, that is a NICE RV home :) Aww..cute Fritz! Lol at him not choosing your furniture, cracking up :P

The sun is never out for us anymore either Janet. It peeked out this morning but is now gone. Enjoy your hair cut and errands, good idea to be home before it freezes! Yum on beef noodle soup!

Glad you finally got some good sleep Linda, hope ot sticks with you! I'm going to get the pizza recipe posted today :) I found a great yeast dough that needs no rise that I make for the kids and Michael. I'll be posting that link as well with the recipe.

At the gym then running by the meat market to get chicken breast and bacon. Have some cleaning to do around the house also.

My Mom is having her first of 2 spine/neck surgeries today. Over 10 yrs. ago she had surgery and found out about a year ago the surgeon did a botched job and now he spine is growing incredibly crooked. I was planning on going to visit her today bit my Dad said she won't be out of surgery until around 2pm and that she will be sleeping the rest of the day most likely so I am going to wait until tomorrow and the kids can go too.

Michael has his 1 day off (I can't believe he has been doing this 2 weeks already!) So we will be going to dinner tonight. Maybe Jimmy Changa's since the kids love that place, but we will see. Have a great day everyone!

Wishing your mom well with her surgery Michelle. Hope this one corrects the problem and she has no more troubles with her spine/neck.
Enjoy your day off with Michael too. It'll be nice to spend time together. After today how long before his next day off?

The no rise pizza dough ... does it make a flat crispy crust?

It's over cast here too. Looks like it may rain. We could use some rain also. Last weather report I seen temps are suppose to drop again over the weekend. Good thing I didn't put my socks away. LOL!

Linda, we had ham omelet for breakfast so I guess we were craving ham also.

Hope your mom's surgery is successful, Michelle.

Hope you have success at both the gym and the meat market Michelle. Good luck housecleaning. I find this time of year it gets SO dusty in the house because of the pellet stove and the fireplace and tracking in snow and stuff from outside.

If you don't mind me asking Michelle, why did your Mom have to have surgery on her spine in the first place? Sending best wishes that all goes perfectly today. When will she have to have the second surgery? Will she be at all mobile initially? It must be a tough thing! Was she having any pain previous to this surgery? Glad Michael gets a day off. Enjoy your dinner out tonight.

Thank you Linda, my brother just updated that they are about half way through surgery and they said it was going well. In 14 days Michael has another day off :\ The crust is thin and crispy, we LOVE it!

    Thank you Karen!

Jim and I enjoyed our McDonald's breakfast and I'm quite pleased with my haircut so that's great. I was feeling VERY shaggy. We grabbed some groceries and some wine for the weekend.

Still haven't cleaned up the kitchen and it's almost lunch time. Jim is taking the opportunity with the warm weather to fill up the hot tub. It was 12C/53F when we were at the Hair Dresser but now it's down to 4C/39F and dropping quickly. I think we made it right in time.

    JOCE?????? You doing okay today?

Janet, she initially had the surgery to remove a benign tumor. She started having slight pain a couple of years ago and it slowly got worse and worse to where she could barely look down for longer than a few seconds so she started wearing a neck brace, just for support and help the pain. The doctor she went to see shortly after did Xrays and was horrified at what he saw. I'm not really sure how the first surgeon messed it up though.

Second surgery will be in a couple months, which is the bigger, scarier one. This one is basically prepping for it. It's a very confusing process to fix, it took her months to even find a surgeon that would do the surgery, but it has to be done or she won't be able to walk or hold her head up in a few years :( I'm hoping it all works!! Can't wait to see her tomorrow :)

Awwwww, how awful for your Mom Michelle. Back pain is SO tiring. It's awful and it's unlike other pain in other areas. I hope she loves this Dr. and that he is amazing. Do keep us tuned.

Fire lit in the family room and Jim and I are settled down with a cocktail to herald in the weekend. :) I had a small amount of frozen shrimp in a bag that I thawed and sauteed up in a fry pan with pepper and garlic and we had those as an appy. Jim's soup is smelling delicious. He forgot to pound the Szechuan peppercorns again so we'll have to pick them out (they're too big and too hot to eat whole I find), but it should be a good batch. In place of some of the water for the broth Joce he uses a box of Campbell's Mushroom broth that you had told me about it and we really think it adds just that something extra.

I booked Jim and I in for two nights at Chateau Montebello at the end of the month. They are offering great rates if you go Sun-Thurs. Gives us something to look forward to. :)

Good evening and hello to all. Nice weekend to look forward too Janet. I know you guys like that place. Prayers for you mom Michelle. Hope all went well today.

Have had problems with our internet the last two days. Going in and out and then finally gone. Guess there was some problems in this area but had a tech out and he replaced some cables and such, but all is working now..........so far. Will have to read back.

Just having what you can find for dinner here tonight. Have lots of stuff to just munch on so all will be well. Boys are in a whiffle ball tournament tonight, of all things. Sounds like a lot of fun. I remember buying them whiffle balls and plastic bats when they were little guys, lol! They are looking forward to it! Grown men running around chasing whiffle balls...........funny visual!

Enjoy your "Saturday" evening all, lol!

A drag you had to contend with computer issues Kimmer. Does that then cause your business issues as well? Glad it's back now. I had to google what a whiffle ball was. Looks fun. :)

Yes Janet, it does cause issue with the business. We had to go into "hurricaine mode" the last couple of days using a hot spot on my husband's cell phone to print mailing labels and invoices. It works but can be spotty too and can miss an invoice or label. No fun! Plus we are in the middle of launching a new web store and that came to a screeching halt as no pics or or anything could be uploaded. Again......no fun!

floridashellsandgifts.com by the way. We have not yet fully stocked the store with all we have yet but we have opened it up for business. This is huge for us as we get away from all the other marketplaces and their fees and regulations. All our own. Hubs had a store thru ProStores years ago but that shut down so we have been at the mercy of ebay, Etsie, and Amazon until now. Which are great venues and marketplaces but fees are involved so naturally more has to be charged to make up for that. This way we can offer our products at a lower price. No "middle man" to pay. Just the cost of owning the domain.........which is nothing compared!

LOL, not doing a commercial here for us, just soooooo excited about it for 2018!
