Snowy Saturday?

    Morning Everyone,
Well I didn't win MegaMillions, but funny story. While I was buying tickets I said to the cashier. I would have better odds if I played something else. So he said No one is playing Mass Cash (its a small lottery and payout is $100,000 every time) so I say ok give me a quick pick. I got 4 out of 5 numbers in the Mass Cash which is $250. not $640 million but still will be great to take to Mexico next month.
Working today at Macy's Haven't been there in forever. Not sure If I mentioned I got offered a spraying position with another company. I have never heard off. I turned them down but it was nice to be asked. I made sure I told my boss, so she knows I am in demand lol (hey last time she gave me $1 an hour raise when she heard someone was trying to pinch me)
I think tonights dinner will be leftovers, or maybe I will talk frank into going to Cappelini's and using our Gift certificate that I won from the dentist.

ROFL! That's awesome Laurie! Yay on the $250! That's excellent! Wow....Mexico only one month away hey! Very fun! Have a good day at Macy's. I'm looking forward to going shopping at the Macy's in Sunnyvale next week. Need another pr. of shoes. That is very nice that you got a job offer from another company. Dinner out at Cappelini's sounds yummy! Are you getting snow today? 32F here today. 59F in Sunnyvale!
I would like to make something nice for dinner but I don't have a clue what yet. Guess I should go root around in the freezer. I'm doing a pretty good job cleaning it out!
Have a Hair cut appointment at 10 a.m. and then there is a Sens Game on at 1 p.m. And then our Contractor is coming over late afternoon to finalize the plans for the Bathroom Reno that he's going to do while we're away.

Yup they are saying snow, but its too warm to stick so it will just be pretty hopefully.
I can't believe Mexico came up so quick. I need a bathingsuit :)
Frank says we do need some money at the resort because even though it is all inclusive you can tip (unlike Sandals which is forbidden) so you need to leave a little something after meals.

Laurie, how smart of you to play the other lotto! And wow, a winner too. Are you getting snow? Definitely go to Cappelini's and use your windfall! Nice bonus money for Mexico. You'll get that raise too.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts on Poppop. We are going today to visit. I didn't want to risk getting him ill with my physical troubles. I'll glove up anyway. Momma died from a fall and head injury ten years ago and now my stepdad.....44 years of stern parenting but always from a loving heart, suffering the same blow. I'm going to miss his steadfast council and practical stubborn Polish self. I feared him and loved him. I won't have him to critique my Polish cooking efforts anymore.

Ordered two pizzas last night, two mediums, one meat lovers and one blanca with spinach and anchovies. Liv came home and helped herself to the leftovers and I heard her "OH GROSS" two rooms away. She got a mouthful of anchovies and was quite unhappy. LOL

Have mani/pedis for the two of us at 6:00 p.m. Dinner will be early. Beef and Broccoli with brown rice.

Two ducks have been coming to swim each am and pm in the pool. Fred has been feeding them. He swims with them. I heard him "quacking" with them last night. Times like these make me wonder about his mental state. Charlie and Molly go berserk when our feathered friends fly in.

    Good Morning!!
Congrats Laurie.....you are one lucky lady!!
Janet, good luck with the bathroom reno.
Tina, hope you have a nice visit today.
Billy starts his new job today and Les is gone to finish up his side job. Took much longer than he expected.
Dishes are done, beds are made so I'm off to get gas. Have a $1.60 off per gallon offer that needs to be used today so I think I'll take advantage and fill our gas cans too.
No clue what's for supper yet. Supposed to rain so I'm thinking wedding soup and some kind of Italian cold cut subs.

Hope your visit with Poppop goes well today Tina. Is he still in a coma? Enjoy your Mani/Pedis and be sure to tell us what colour you go with. The names of the polish are always so fun! That's awesome that the Ducks are coming for a swim. We have a pair of Geese that look like they might nest up in the Pond again this year and a pair of mallards have been moseying along the stream bed. It's cold outside but it's a beautiful morning and the birds are just singing up a song!
Hi Corinne! Hope Billy enjoys his first day at his new job!

Corinne, you must be over the moon happy with Billy here! and how super for him to find employment so quickly. Rainy days are meant for soup.

Poppop is not out of the coma, he is breathing but that is all, he is end stage, just a matter of time. Visit is to say good-bye. for our benefit. He won't know.

I'm getting boring french tips on my stubby fingers. might spring for orange or coral for the toes.

You know....it is always so cleansing to purge stuff. The bathroom we are renoing is just a small one off the kitchen. But I threw out a shopping bag full of expired medication and the miniature bandages you never use in the 'mixed' box! :) Felt good.
Took a whole chicken out to thaw. Have a craving for Shake n' Bake but maybe we'll do a rotisserie chicken on the Grill. Jim went out for a power walk, took the markers off the laneway now that the snow is gone and did some raking. We're having a productive day.
    Okay Joce.....let's cheer together! :)
French tips are kind of cool Tina. I'd never heard of them until a year or so ago. I used to paint my nails allllll the time pre: Hardware store days. Perhaps it's something I'll revisit once I'm retired! :)
It's a beautiful, beautiful day out. Cold but sunny. Time for the Sens Game! And a Roast beef sandwich for lunch. Mustard and onions. Yum. :)

Joce, you are right as rain about having the reno done while Janet is gone, less fuss and muss. Let me guess, salmon for you and burgers for Den? The beef and broccoli may not get made, Fred is balking.

Purging cabinets is cathartic, I agree, Janet. Nice to clear the clutter. I just have to resist the urge to fill the space back up with junk. Yummy sandwich!

Clouding up here and rain perhaps? Kind of fits our mood, hard to shake the good/bad memories and heavy hearts we share today. There is thunder in he distance.

It is indeed nice to have our Contractor do the bathroom while we're gone. It's like having little elves make new shoes for the shoemaker over night. What was the name of that fairy tale?
Sens winning 3-0 over Philadelphia at the end of the first period. Ya baby!
You say that Poppop won't know you're there when you visit Tina, but do we really know that? Really? Celebrate the good memories. He sounds like a great man!

Yep, that's it. "The Elves and the Shoemaker". I loved that story. Fairy Tales were awesome. They were more renowned in my day than Benjamin's although I did try and read him the Classic ones when he was young.3-3 Tie Sens vs. Philly. Ugh. We really let it slip. But I, being the eternal optimist, am still believing we'll come out on top.....do you concur Joce? LOL! :)
Am missing a bunch of people lately. Big Hugs going out to Donna and Brad. Brooke, I'm missing you big time and Ang!!!!!! I know you think you just lurk but we miss you when you don't! :) Marie and MarieC.....??????? Hope you guys are okay.
Laura....how is your weekend shaping up? And Kimmer? We haven't heard from you in a couple days either.
And Dahlia...we didn't hear from you yesterday or today!

    Good evening!

Just finished my newspaper manicure. Pic as my avatar. Checking in from my phone so I don't mess up my nails.. Was doing laundry but need to give it a rest for a while. Dinner will be left over chicken, pinto beans, rice soft tacos. Last night we splurged on carry out Soul Food. I had fried chicken & collard greens, he had fried pork chops & green beans. We both had Mac & cheese and corn bread.

I helped my friend thread the ribbons on her wedding invitations, stamp & stuff envelopes. Her fiance had to deal with an upset at work and wasn't able to make the tasting. We tried Caesar & garden salads (she chose garden), dinner rolls, a duet entree of salmon w/ leek cream sauce, fillet mignon w/ demi glaze & mushrooms, au gratin cheesy potatoes & vegetable medley. Chocolate cake w/ butter cream frosting and red velvet cake w/ cream cheese frosting for wedding cake. Bottom & top tier will be red velvet & middle chocolate. Everything was really good!

Back to chat later. Don't mean to seem rude or self centered not addressing you individually, its just so difficult scrolling up & down on the phone. Hi everyone! Hope you're having a pleasant Saturday!

Dahlia....that's so fun. I love it. I'd like to try that myself soon! OOOoooooo on the tasting. Sounds like fun and yummy. I can see why she went with the garden salad...would probably appeal to more people than the Caesar. Too bad her hubby to be couldn't join in but nice you were able too. Oh my goodness on salmon and filet migon. Gorgeous!

Dahlia, hi, honey. I got my new nails too. Liv says they are Jerseylicious! LOL I have a huge learning curve with typing......Dinner menu sounds wonderful as well as your friend's wedding plans. How lovely of you to help....very nice.
Elves and Shoemaker one of my favorite fables of all time.
    Yeah, on the Sens win.
Olivia's nail tech called us to come in two hours early, so we are finished early. Yeah! We went to Brew Burgers for supper. Olivia built her own burger, sauteed onions, jalapenos, grilled mushrooms, pepper jack cheese with bourbon bbq sauce. I had the steak salad with Chipotle vinaigrette. pepper jack, tortilla strips, mixed greens, tomatoes, avocado, corn and black beans..it was very very good. Fred has his fav, Piggyback.....bbq pork on a burger with slaw on top and onion rings. Had a coupon for 25.00 off.
Stayed with Dad only a few minutes, the CNA was changing his bed linens and doing his personal care. He is unresponsive to any stimulus according to the nurses and staff, Yes we have the good memories and will hold them near and dear..

    Hugs to all!

I'll see if Liv can snap a pic of the nails. I have a floral design on two and abstract on two. Her nails are teal with black and white zebra/polka dots! Her toes are solid teal. Mine are tangerine tango. We have talked Fred into a mani/pedi before the cruise LOL this should be fun. And yes, Liv had the BEST burger. Brew Burgers is opening a second store in Tampa. Congrats to them.

Molly and Charlie love our longer nails.....good for back scratching!!!

I'm okay. just okay. Resigned would be accurate. I suppose.
