Softball Saturday!

Morning all!!! I need to read back to catch up on the last few days, hope everyone is doing well. Yesterday was a little crazy. I basically was in my truck ALL day driving around, just doing stuff, picking up things for Softball (shirts, banner, etc). I won't bore you with the details lol.

Today is opening day for Softball, so we will be up there all day. We have pictures, opening ceremonies, 2 games and in between all that we are doing some booths to raise money. A pie in the face booth (we did it last year and it was a hit!) and a hair color spray booth. It's 53 degrees right now and I am crossing my fingers it stays cool for the day. I need to check the weather to see how warm it may get.

Well that's it for us, dinner will probably be concession stand food, or fast food, taking sandwiches for our lunch :) Have a great day everyone!!

Good Morning Michelle! When did the last season of Softball end? I like the sounds of that hair colour spray booth. Are you getting yours done? :) Concession stand food sounds apropos for a day of Softball. I like a good Hot Dog anyday. Have loads of fun!

It's supposed to rain here pretty much all day with a high of 9C/48F which is very warm for us. We're going to lose a whole lot more snow and that's okay by me. We had a thunder and lightening storm last night. Crazy really for February and it was nice to hear the rain on the metal roof.

I've taken some tenderloin out to grill. Haven't gotten any farther than that on the dinner planning.

JIm is meeting up with a friend for lunch and I think I'll make myself some Wonton soup. Need to do a workout this morning.

Morning Janet! Last season of Softball ended in November, but with being on a set team, practices never end lol. Technically we could do tournaments all year around but we took a few months off so the girls wouldn't get burned out. We are excited to get started back up! I might get my hair sprayed for promoting reasons :P :P I definitely don't want to get pied, so hopefully enough siblings and friends will volunteer, considering the girls won't be allowed to get "pied" until after their last game which won't end until 4ish.

Wow on your weather, that is warm for y'all! Yum on grilled tenderloin and the wonton soup as well :) Good luck with your workout!

Got the truck all loaded up with chairs, table, wagon, food, icechest, equipment etc. It's a lot of work and of course Michael had to work nights this weekend so I'm doing it all by myself while he sleeps. His night shifts sure do have bad timing. He will only get a few hours of sleep before he has to get up and be at pictures at 9:45. Then he will head back home and sleep for a few more hours and be back up to the fields for the games, then he will go into work after that. Poor guy!

    Good Morning Everyone!

The start of softball season Michelle sounds exciting. Wishing the girls well. I can't believe how busy they are with it, so much activity other than the games themselves.

Hoping more of your snow melts for you Janet. Always nice to see the first patch of green grass breaking through.

Hope both you Joce and Shona are feeling better today or at least have a good day pain wise.
All the ancestry talk has me wanting to delve into mine but right now I just don't have the time. Ufff. So sorry to hear Roxy is having trouble. Any idea how she got the sore on her tail?

We had cardinals peeping in our windows yesterday Bren. I call them the Crazy Cardinals. It's a male and female and then hang out on the window sill ledge and look inside and peck at the window.

Thanks Kimmer for noting how you prepare the meatballs over noodles. Sounds easy which is right up my alley. Nice to hear Charlie ate and still has his will. That was my Oliver right up till the end. Your heart can't help but to smile filled with their love and devotion.

Not sure what we are doing this weekend. I was surprised to have gotten so much unpacked yesterday without a fight. DH seems to accept we are here and will be for some time. He is out there doing whatever he is doing in the garage. Going thru everything. I need to order another storage cabinet so there is room to put stuff away. I want to gather up all the sports equipment we used for Kenpo and take that to a second time around place and sell it which he seems to be receptive to also. I took 3 boxes of stuff to Goodwill yesterday (crystal vases, bowls, odd and ends type stuff, stuff I had growing up that I was hanging on to for sentimental reasons, etc). I have a box of more expensive stuff (Lenox, Hummels, etc.) and am hoping to find a place to sell it as it's not really Goodwill stuff. Stuff I don't use that just collects dust. I'll keep a few nicer pieces but most of it I just want to get rid of and "lighten the load". Also only unpacked one set of china again hoping to sell the other two. I have crystal glasses to unpack and wash today. Then I'll really go thru our clothes and take care of that. Feels good to be getting it done but is also a little depressing.

I'm at the start of sore throat and I'm hoping nothing else. Hoping to knock it out before it takes hold so lots of Zicam and vitamin C today.

Haven't a clue what to make for dinner.

    Good morning.

Michelle, the hair color booth sounds like fun. I would opt for purple...a light shade would go great for gray. Ha ha. You certainly have a busy day ahead! A nice, heart unhealthy, supper of concession food never hurt anyone....they can always eat healthy at home...LOL.

Janet, it is 23F here with a high of 44F. Low tonight around 27F and we hope showers Sunday. We had a few flurries last night. Terrible February weather. It encourages fleas and ticks.

Yes, I will accept all donations of snow! Send it South, please!

Mel and A.C. are rampaging thru the house. Trouble jumped up on my lap to relocate away from the fray, Mauser is hiding until things calm down. Another wild and woolly day on the farm.

    See you later.

    SP Linda.

Downsizing can be depressing for sure. We also have too much in the way of possessions and I really have to get back to getting rid of some. The saddles are nice and hopefully we can sell them this Spring. One is a Hereford brand, one is hand tooled, and the others are hand made and /or plain synthetic.. We will probably keep two and sell the other three.

Softball does seem to keep your family hopping alright Michelle. :) The workout almost killed me. Does Michael find it fairly easy to fall asleep and get up and then fall asleep again? I couldn't do it but I know some people can. I feel for him.

I'm a bit surprised to hear you are not going to continue your Kenpo Linda. You're very busy with all your unpacking. Good luck with getting rid of your china and such. I can see how it would be a bit of a sad task. Take it easy a bit if you can and try get rid of your sore throat.

That surprises me that we are having warmer temperatures than you Karen!

Just reread your post. I own lots of German crystal that we got overseas and really need to sell some. My weakness is crystal! Good luck selling your extras.

I really don't have the heart for Kenpo anymore Janet. It was something DH and I did together and since he can't/won't be able to do it ... Plus I hate having to do forms and can't remember the names for half of the stuff. If I take up martial arts again I'll look into Wing Chun.

    How's Geezer Karen?

Made shirred eggs for me this morning. Surprising because I'm really not a fan of eggs but wanted to get something in me to hold me for a few hours.

A lot of our stuff has been passed on to us either thru my Mom or his parents (all deceased now). Lovely stuff with no practical purpose. Like I said, a few pieces are nice to have but I have way too much and nobody to pass it on to who would appreciate it. What makes me sad is I have my Grandmother's bread basket that I used growing up for my Easter Basket, her Sunday pasta and meatball platter, her crochet'd doilies. Then I have goofy stuff that I've held on to since I was a kid. My nightlight that was in the shape of a mushroom with holes in to top to let the light thru, a pin cushion that I bought my mom at the gift shop while on a field trip to a museum when I was in grade school ... and let's not even talk about the old family photos from when my mom was growing up and of my brother (deceased now too) when he was a baby. My brother's daughter is alive, married, and kids of her own. I'll have to see if she wants the pictures. She has no appreciation of anything unless it's worth something she can turn into cash. :(

Linda, Geezer is on a very slow recovery. I put another ointment on he, he was unimpressed. Have not brought him inside because he hates confinement, but may gave to if he gets worse. If it was a gaping wound I would have no choice.

Mel and Trouble decided it was too cold and came indoors. A.C. Is still braving the cold.

Wayne is starting the fire in the wood stove. I have to get moving again or will get nothing done.

Yes, Janet is is s bit strange to have warmer temperature than you. My offer still stands to take some snow....ha ha!

I'm sure I mentioned it before Linda, but both my son and my hubby did Tai Kwon Do. Jim got his second degree black belt and then he quit. The thing he liked the least was the competitions with other groups and the thing he disliked second was doing all the repetitive patterns. :) It's very tough to give up things that tug at our memories and emotions. I haven't been able to do that yet and as of now have no desire to. I realize I will have to deal with it in the future. A tragedy if your niece doesn't want old family photos. Doing so much work on Ancestry a picture is a treasure!

Poor Geezer. I hope he turns the corner and gets better asap. We just had a big avalanche off of the roof Karen. I shall pack it up and ship it your way. :)

Just made up a new steak rub. It's a coffee rub that I got from Leite's Culinaria. I've never tried coffee in a rub before. Crossing fingers.

Thank you Janet - waiting with baited breath for a good snowfall! Maybe send some from the sky also since the roof snow is probably packed and I'd hate to have snowballs bonk me on the head. Ha ha.

Hi everyone! I just read back a weeks worth of posts. lol it's been a busy week.
Sunday I had the family over for the ham and that night me and my friend went to see the movie Patriots Day about the marathon bombing. I liked it but my stomach was in knots because I knew what was going to happen. Wednesday night we had our late holiday party for work at Kings bowling. Somehow we managed to come home with an actual pin lol.
Thursday night was book club. We read the Carrie Fisher book. The Princess Diarist. It was ok only one person really loved it.
Last night I'm all relaxed in my Jammies and my neighbor text that we should go with her and her hubby out for a drink. I said I just changed. She said change back we can relax when we are 80 lol. I had 2 Sangrias and omg I don't know but I was feeling it when we left lol. There was problems at work so me and my coworkers were texting back and forth and so I texted a picture of Just my DRINK and my boss answers Sangria at Tremmezzo. We were stunned that he would know just from the picture of the drink lol
I made the best chicken picatta last night and I just winged it. Pretty proud of myself lol
Tonight I am trying something different with turkey meatloaf. I added onions and peppers to the mix along with taco seasoning. And did a middle layer of cheddar chees topped with salsa. Hope it comes out good. I'm starving lol

Sounds like you had a nice week Laurie. LOL @ your neighbour saying you can relax when you're 80. LOL. Yum on Chicken PIcatta. I used to make that all the time years and years ago and then Jim said it was too 'puckery'. I should try it on him again and see. Jim would love your meatloaf.

Jim had a nice lunch out and ordered a Chicken Pesto crepe but he said it was a tad blah and could have used a sauce or more pesto over top. I'm trying to get through my next Book Chat book "The Raven's Gift" by Jon Turk but I don't like it and it's a slog. About 50 more pages to go.

Am going to bake potatoes and slice some tomatoes as sides for the steak. I'll try out our new 18 yr. old Balsamic that I recently bought.

Jim picked up a movie at the Library for us to watch tonight "Neighbours 2". It think it will be silly but hopefully we'll get a couple of guffaws.

The turkey meatloaf was very good! I'll make it that way again. I forgot to mention that we are breaking records with the weather It's been in the 60's and 70's for the last few days. Two weeks ago it was like 20. Gotta love crazy New England weather.
