Pat, I had a big post....and the computer shut down and I lost it. Thanks for picking up the thread. Some weird power surge.

Fred can't figure out how to turn on the coffee maker this a.m. I'm going to have to get one that is easier for him.

Today is the St. Pete Izod Grand Prix....last year Olivia literally ran into Gene Simmons...so far no celebrity sightings yet. The weather looks "iffy" for the street race. It will be televised at 3:30 or 4:00 p.m. so if you want to sneak a peak of our downtown area, look for it on TV. Helio Castanueves has won it twice, Danica Patrick is racing and Ashley Judd's husband will be in the running too. I'm not going anywhere near the madness downtown.

Since we got all the chicken breasts from AF yesterday and I found two half-full jars of capers. And there are some lemons in the frig....I think we will be having chicken piccata. Some herbed garlic noodles and something "green" yet to be determined. Although I have a big bag of mini carrots ready to head south.....I think they are getting to the point they have to become soup and are too old to be gingered carrots.

Good idea on the ham steaks. I don't know why I never thought of just a ham steak. Much Much cheaper for me too. Yeah....I love it when there is a quick solution to a culinary dilemma.

Welcome back Ang!!!!!! Rest up and fill us in, sweetie. Big hugs, glad you are safe.

    Happy cooking.

OH YUM, CHicken Piccata....I want some!!

Tina I just read about the dive, I'm so glad you all had such a good day!

Slept til after 10 this morning. Bryan wants to take the kids to the jumping shack, I think I will try to beg off! lol Got so much to do that didn't get done yesterday. By the time I watched the Lady Vols get beat, traveled to Athens to walmart, then got home and had a hotdog cookout / marshmallow roast with his daughter and the grandkids, I didn't get any of my saturday chores done! (But we had pretty weather and a wonderful day!) Got a pork butt, and think I will do some pulled pork bbq, corn on the cob, slaw, and baked beans today. Will post.

Those chops in the dijon cream sauce sound awesome!

    Have a great Sunday!

Can't wait to hear about the trip, Ang!! When does Wynne get home?

Morning all! I got up a lot earlier than I planned to. That's ok. Will make it easier to get to bed early tonight to get back in the grind of Monday morning.

I never did get a hold of Corinne while I was down there. Feel like a turd but there was just so much going on...I hope she understands.

I would be absolutely TERRIFIED to jump out of a plane. Really do not like heights...I left claw marks in poor Dumbo's behind. LOL

I've been thinking about cornflake chicken all week. haha, gonna do the chi chi's oven fried chicken tonight.

Nice to have you back Ang. Figured it would be hard for you and corinne to get together. When kids are with you,you do what they want to do.Sure that Corinne will understand. My kids are back too and had a ball!

Change of plans. Steaks have to marinate so saving them for Tuesday. It's macaroni and beef from a frozen package instead.

Turkey sandwiches are the best part of the turkey.

LOL on the Dumbo's behind visual. Bless your heart. I am afraid of heights now....didn't used to be, until I got stuck at the top of a double ferris wheel and sat up there freezing for 35 minutes at the FL state fair. Cured me of high in the sky rides forever.

the turkey dinner was delish, considering I modified everything to make it no fat or lowfat. Made the stuffing with chicken stock instead of butter. Made the mashed with fat free half and half and stock as well. bought jarred fat free gravy (I know but thats the most fattening part) it actually wasn't that bad. Cranberry sauce is already fat free and turkey is pretty diet friendly. Now I am thinking about making a wrap and layering all the ingredients for later or lunch tommorow. right now I am stuffed! Having a nice cup of coffee.

Grand Prix rained out today. Will try again at 10:00 a.m. Will be on ESPN II if you want to see our beautiful downtown. We have the Pier sticking out in Tampa Bay, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Vinoy Hotel, the Albert Whitted airfield......all the downtown haunts that make St. Pete special. No more green benches and retirees.

making Connor's asparagus with browned balsalmic butter with our chicken piccata....Hope it works with frozen.
