Tasty Thursday.....

    Good Morning Everyone!
A beautiful day in my neck of the woods! Supposed to remain fairly cool but we have bright skies and sunshine.
Jim and I are heading over to our friends this morning. Jim is going to help take a tree down and then cut it up and we'll bring it back to our place to use as firewood. I'm just going along to visit. :) Then it's a major house clean for the afternoon. SO needs it!
Don't have to make dinner as we are going to a "Concert in the Park" this evening and they sell BBQ hamburgers prior to the music starting. Should be fun. Haven't gone in years.
Shona, how are things in your parts these days? I saw major storms happening over Calgary yesterday.
Joce, hope you're feeling better this morning. Did you find something suitable for your GF?
HAVE A GREAT DRIVE Michelle! It's always so much fun to head out on a road trip! :)
How did Rick make out in Capay Marie?
Hope you got a proper sleep last night Tina.
Karen, hope your Internet is working properly today. So frustrating I know!
    Laurie?
    Val?
    Anyone else missing in action?
Wishing everyone a most lovely day!

    Hi. Internet returned finally.

We are at the car dealer while the gray truck is being serviced. The check engine light came on and it is due for an oil change so here we are. Had breakfast at Waffle House. Grits, cheesy scrambled eggs, raisin toast, bacon, hits, and coffee. Lots of coffee. I remembered to take my stevia along so could sweeten the coffee without worrying about calories or sugar. Heaven.

Have a good day. The concert sounds like fun, esp. with BBQ sandwiches and no cooking. We used to cut down trees (dead or dying, not healthy ones) for firewood when we had wood heat, but it is a bit harder now.

Hope the truck doesn't take too long. See you later.

Morning! That's nice of Jim to help out his buddy Janet and great that you get a nice visit and some firewood out of it! Sorry I called you Karen yesterday lol...I knew it was you I was talking to...just had a brain boggle for a second. Cool on the concert in the park, will it be local bands or something?

I'm not one for road trips...I get car sick easily so it makes it hard to read or do anything. Now if we had a motor home that would be different. I never got carsick in my Memaws motor home when we would go on week long trips with the whole family.

Kids are being good so far, we have it set up so Caiden is on the second row in the car and Bri is in the third right behind him so they won't fight. Bris got the ice chest and all the good right next to her so she's happy lol!

Here is our choices in dining at the resort http://tanglewoodresort.com/dining-lounges/
Tonight we will probably grab something from Barnacles but one night I think we are having a big family dinner at the Commodore Room. Hope everyone has a great day!!

SP Karen! Sounds like a nice filling breakfast you had! We stopped and grabbed breakfast tacos from our favorite little place before hitting the road.

Getting pretty hyped up on coffe myself. We stopped at Buc-ees and picked up 24oz. coffees, their homemade peppered beef jerkey, and some sunflower seeds. All set!

    Pouring rain now.
    Rather pleasant to listen too.

My cpap mask broke overnight and I tried taping it. No go, so in answer to your question, Janet...I did not sleep well.

Time to swiffer again, there is dog hair everywhere. Somehow, I have misplaced my purse and I need to find it. I have a feeling someone (Skippy) pulled it under a bed to gnaw on a strap or make her nest.

A concert in the park does sound like fun. Especially having someone else do the cooking.

We have a palm that needs to be taken down. The arborist said, he'd haul the trunk away which I know is code that he will sell it to the Tiki man to carve into a statue.

Karen, your breakfast sounds great. I'm all in on the grits. Coffee is brewing.

Schwan's is coming tomorrow!! Yeah. Karen, how is it packed? In boxes or bags?
I'm going to wrangle dogs and the navigate the garage of pitfalls to put it away.

    C'mon coffee.....beep.

Truck is done. Just dirt around the gas cap. No charge for that, just for the oil change and service. Home again! Picked up a bottle of unsweetened tea and added stevia to it, bec. the salt in restaurant food left me thirsty!

Good plan for child arrangement, Michelle. I am guessing Caiden needs to be more within arm's reach so he is closer - LOL! My daughter loves her mini van for that reason. I sympathize with car sickness....can not read or type or check the map while the car is moving, either. I was the oldest of four, had to be on the right side rear passenger seat so I could see the road ahead and avoid carsickness.

I have heard of Tanglewood but have not been there. Pictures, please!

Hi Tina! Bad doggies at work again? A.C. And Mauser were bird watching, Mauser practicing the "ack ack" sound they use when watching birds.

Don't know what I did before Swiffers were around....swept up five recently killed crickets and a BUNCH of cat hair this morning but the Swiffers duster picks up lots more animal hair. So it is going to be swiffered before too long!

Schwanns meals come in boxes and/or bags. I think their fish is overpriced, though. But their quality is good for their meals, etc.; we like the pre-order option. Avoid the ice cream and cheesecake.....I gained five pounds just reading the ads. Ha ha!

The Waffle House waitress kept coffee coming, so three cups later the groggy voice was gone and I could communicate again. Hahaha. Their grits are pretty good and I almost always get the cheesy eggs.

O.K. There are no more excuses to keep me from doing some house work so I best get moving.

Your waffle house breakfast sounds like a feast Karen! I 'think' I have stevia in my pantry. I should check.
Yes, Michelle....it's a local band playing at the Park this evening. They run it every thursday night in July. Tonight's the last one. We used to go on occasion years and years ago so it'll be fun to go check it out again. Ugh on getting carsickness. I used to get that when I was a kid and it was just awful. The thing that triggered it the worst was if someone close to me was chewing Juicy Fruit gum. I can't smell that to this day and not feeling a little queasy. :) Do you ever take Gravol or anything? I checked out the menus for Barnacles and the Commodore Room. They have 'beer nuggets' at Barnacles. LOL! Never heard of that before although I know beer battered fish is common. I'd choose the Prime Rib sliders in a flash. :) I think I'd choose the Catfish Commodore from the other menu as I've never had catfish and I'm curious.
Your rain has made its way to Ottawa Tina! :) It wasn't in the forecast but it's here nonetheless. I just finished washing the floors when I heard the rain on the roof and had to run out and grab the mat and shoes that I'd thrown out on the deck. Did you find your purse? I love the sound of a statue made from a palm tree by a Tiki Man. Love it. :)
Housework was done. I could dust the bookcases, or, or, or....but for the most part we're lookin' pretty good. Jim and I don't make a lot of mess so the house always looks pretty much neat but it's the dust that gets everywhere no matter.

    Free! Lost my post.

Catfish is a staple here, lots of places have all you eat one or two nights a week. I love it. Wayne says fish is not seafood and gets a burger.

Went shopping at KMart and kohls and got some good buys.

    See you later.

I did order ice cream....me bad. The peanut butter one for Olivia, at least that's my story.
I used 6 swiffer cloths just in kitchen, family room and my room. I have not found my purse. It is purple and black, not exactly subtle.

Tonight's supper, can of tuna, ramen noodles (no seasoning pack) black olives, sundried tomatoes, capers, handful of green beans, diced red onion and chunks of feta. Cooked in a cup of chicken broth.

It is clouding up again. Liv is working late. I wish I had some tea. I am completely out of black tea bags.

I've got two books I want to read but my eyes are not cooperating. sigh.

Ugh inmate when I get logged out of GR and then I can't get back in. I swear I put the same user name and password like 4 times before it works!
Becca uses the arm bands for car sickness and they really seem to work without the drowsy side affects.
We had Panera for dinner. Frank was taking his brother out. He is getting remarried next weekend.

    Home again!

Tina, the caramel nut (salted) ice cream is evil. Yummy, decadent, but evil. Enjoy your tuna. Hope the purse reappears soon. You didn't leave it in the car? I have done that, for sure. Our Schwann man comes Monday so I need to get the order in soon.

Wayne's buddy had well problems so he had to work on that, so we went to Rolla. KMart is my to go place for basics, but I found a pair of pants and a casual top also. Seldom go to Kohls bec. it is far away. The Kohls cash will expire before we ever get back. He found a couple of shirts and I bought a pair of dressy pants that will be nice this fall.

Laurie, glad you finally got in. I have had to redo my login several times, and am leery that it might block me. AllRecipes does that, also and I had to change the pw to keep logging in. Pain! It is annoying whenI KNOW I typed the pw correctly.

Watching Mountain Men. It is one of my favorite reality shows. Could never live that lifestyle.

Hope the concert was fun, Janet!
