Throwing a Party Tuesday!

  • chuckieb 5 years ago
Good Morning Everyone! We`re throwing a party in here today......HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOCE! :) What plans do you have to celebrate? I shall start your morning off with a batch of Virtual Mimosas and a big ole Birthday cake. :) Everyone help yourself! Wishing you a most wonderful day!. Is Den still off on holidays or no?

It`s Benjamin`s birthday today as well. He and Angel were heading to `Ocean God`s Pool` this morning (which was actually last night as we were heading to bed as they are 12 hours ahead of us). I hope they took some photos. We`re supposed to Skype with them when they get home from dinner. I hope he had a lovely day.

Not sure what I`m going to make for dinner tonight. I still have a sore throat and am not feeling myself but I`m no worse either. Silly cold. I forgot to buy tomato soup yesterday as I want to make cabbage rolls today. Argh.

Hope you got things all sorted out last night Laurie.

Wishing everyone a great day! 3C here this morning with a wee bit of sunshine. Strong winds last night blew the cedar bench over in the front yard.

Happy Birthday Joce and Good Morning to All!! I'll bring sticky buns (my favorite), calories don't count on birthdays. Wishing you a spectacular day Joce.

And Happy Birthday to Benjamin too! What is Ocean God's Pool … the ocean or a pool type park?? Sorry your throat isn't any better today Janet. Will you run out to the store to get the soup for the cabbage rolls or wait for another time to make them? Enjoy your chat with Benj later.

We had a great dinner out yesterday (for a change). We went to University Grill which we don't go to too often because it's a little further away. DH had a shrimp cocktail (I had two of his shrimp), Caesar salad, and a Filet with rice pilaf. I had their house salad and sole stuffed with a breading, crabmeat, and shrimp mixture topped with a creamy crab tomato sauce … it was SO GOOD! We split a piece of cheesecake for dessert. Service was great and the food was great.
No clue what I'm making tonight for dinner or if we will go to the gym or not today.
I need to get the new printer set up and the software taken off our computers for the old one. I can call and someone will walk me thru it all since I bought that other thing for support/service.

    Second try to post. Aargh!

I am sure Joce will enjoy your virtual party, Janet. It is 38F here, so we are not far apart if I recall the C-F conversion. Supposed to warm up later.

    Dinner out sounded yummy, Linda!

Once I finish my coffee I have enough to keep me busy for a while.

Laurie, the electric company and the management company both sound bad. Yipes! Good that you have not had frantic phone calls about no heat. Hot water, or the lack of for a short time,is more of a nuisance as long as you can heat enough for dishes and such. But heat is another thing altogether. At least you show genuine concern for your tenants! Hope it is resolved soon.

Yum on Sticky buns Linda. We`re all going to be hard wired from the sugar rush today! LOL! This is the link Benj sent me re: Ocean`s God Pool. It looks like a series of waterfalls and pools on a mountainside.

A fantastic birthday destination for a 28 yr. old yes? :) Your dinners last night sounded wonderful. I`m going to run out after we talk to Benj and buy some tomato soup. The sun keeps going in and out behind the clouds so it`s a perfect Cabbage roll making day. I also need to plant an entire bucket full of irises that my girlfriend Jo brought me but don`t really feel like it. LOL.

    Hi Karen!

Good luck at your appointment Michelle. Ugh is right. Have a great day!

    WOW! THANK YOU, EVERYONE:)

Happy Birthday to Ben, Janet. I hope he enjoys his special day. Did the surprise party turn out to be a surprise for Ben? Take some Dequadin for your throat and if that doesn't work call your doctor for an appointment. We don't want you to come down with Strep Throat again. Sending soothing healing to you.

Thanks for the Sticky Buns, Linda. Yum! Your dinner last night sounds absolutely fantastic! Good luck with setting up your new printer.

The ODD Sleep Fairy has been liking it here too much lately, Karen:( Shaking my head.

Good luck at your appointment, Michelle.

Holy #$%@# on all the problems with the property, Laurie! I hope it all gets straightened out soon.

Shaking my head about people who let off loud firecrackers, Kimmer:( You would wonder why people get such a kick out of them?

Den is off for another week of vacation. Today we are going to Smiths Falls to pick up our pork chop order at the butcher's then we will go out for lunch somewhere to celebrate our Anniversary which was Sunday and my birthday. Not sure where yet?

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Just noticed I wrote Michelle instead of Laurie. Brain dead I guess. I changed it.

    Hi to all.

Lol, I seem to be brain dead all the time lately, Karen. Happy belated Birthday Wishes to you. I think I did put a birthday wish up on your timeline on FB a couple of days ago. Lol, now I am not sure if I did?

Hi Joce! :) I was a little worried the Birthday Girl wouldn't check in today. :) A jaunt to Smiths Falls sounds like lots of fun. You should have waited 'til tomorrow and then you could have bought some pot. LOLOLOL. This legalization thing has me in stitches. I never thought I'd see the day. Have a fun lunch out and nice on your pork chop purchase. I think it's about time we all ganged up on that No Sleep Fairy and lock her in a closet somewhere. :) Belated Happy Anniversary to you and Den. Have a great day.

Had a lovely chat with Benj and Angel. He looks so happy. The birthday dinner was a raging success and he was so tickled. Unfortunately it was not a surprise entirely. The couple that were going to host it at their restaurant (the ones that came to visit Jim and I in July) had a HUGE fight. Angel was going to cancel the party at first but then decided to tell Benjamin about it and switched the location to his friend Reza's instead. He didn't know until he got there who all Angel had invited and everyone gave him gifts as well which he was expecting so he was really touched. It was a potluck and they had a carrot cake at the end. Angel decorated his apartment with a ton of mini balloons. He's really enjoying work too and got a raise this past week so all in all he's on top of the world. :) So nice to see.

Our router is giving us major grief so we're going to run in to town and go learn about them. May buy one there or may buy one on Amazon. We'll see. I think I may suggest lunch out as well.

I never thought I would see pot legalized either, Janet. I have some big concern about it. I think they have jumped the gun on it. More tests etc. should have been done.

Glad to hear Ben had such a good BD and congrats to him on his raise. Have a good jaunt into town.

1.5 hours later and the new printer is installed on one computer. So much for it being eeeeeasy. Ha!! I used that new support package I bought and someone connected in and set it up and it took him over an hour to do so I guess it's paying off. I'll call them back in a little while and have them get the printer hooked up to my computer. I'll see if I can connect it myself to my iPad if not that'll be another call.

GR is acting weird today Karen. It logged me out and when I logged back in it was saying I wasn't logged in yet I was.

OMG! the God's pool place looks incredible Janet! I get it now. Oh no on the couple having a fight, hoping it's something that can be resolved.

I don't know Joce … maybe some legal pot might help you sleep?? LOL!

Wow … and another 1+ hours and the printer is set up on my computer so both are working. Unbelievable how much effort needs to go into this. At least it's done and hopefully this printer will last longer.
At least I can donate the old one and the ink to GoodWill for a tax credit. Even though it doesn't work they take them to refurbish and it won't go to a landfill.

I`m not against the legalization of pot but I think it should be treated the same as alcohol. It does seem to have been rushed through. Different municipalities seem to be able to make different bylaws regarding it. I would not want people just randomly smoking it in parks or in public places like shopping malls etc. I see they`re going to allow it being smoked in National Parks and I guess that`s okay in your own campsite. I do think it`s good if it is regulated and people don't have to be worried it's going to be laced with anything. It's been around a long time underground. We'll see what happens.

Wow Linda on it taking an actual trained computer support person over an hour to hook up a printer. Crazy! I`d have been pulling my hair out if I`d had to do it. Jim and I went and bought a new router. We paid an extra $10.50 for a three year extra warranty (after having this conversation in here with you the last couple of days!!! LOLOLOL). ROFL@ maybe the pot helping Joce sleep. I wonder? LOLOLOLOL. Too flipping funny. That`s so awesome you can donate the old printer and ink to Goodwill for a tax credit and they refurbish them. That`s a really great program!

Had a good trip in to town. Got Jim`s Uncle an 80th Birthday card. Our Hallmark store has closed so we went to four different places and even after that weren`t totally satisfied with the card we purchased. We wanted a really nice one. Oh well. It`s as good as we could find. Bought a few little items for Jim`s sister`s Christmas parcel. Every year I send her a box full of Stocking Stuffers and she loves it. She got a dog (a rescue) this past year which made it easier for me as I bought some dog treats and a toy to go in. :) Had lunch at Thai Express. I had Pad Thai and Jim had a Chicken Red Curry. We both had enough left over we`ll eat it for dinner again and I`ll heat up some Edamame to go with.
Bought two little boxes of Christmas cards. I almost have enough now I think.

Hi everyone. So not resolved so much. It isn’t the property managers fault as he was just hired and didn’t even have a chance to input everything into his system before this happened. The electric company actually only shut off the main areas which was paid by owner not tenant and theyntell me it was shut off due to nonpayment from the old owner which he claims he is up to date. I got everything switched into our name but the electric company sucks they won’t turn everything back on until tomorrow. So people have no hot water. I haven’t heard that anyone has no heat so I think our new property manager was given misinformation that the heat was tied to the main electric account.
My hello fresh delivery was wrong. They gave me the bag of goods for sweet potato and black bean tacos. Which I did not order. And the chicken and recipe card for the chicken dish I did order but not the bag of ingredients. Someone was sleeping on the job. I called they said they would credit my account.
    Happy. Birthday!
