Wake up it's Wednesday!

    Good morning everyone.
Our friends arrived late yesterday. We had the returning guest dinner. Spinach and onion soup that had a cheesy bread toast floating on top. Braised brisket with potatoes was the main course.
We rented the cabana again for the day just waiting for breakfast to be served to us.

First picture is from the dinner. I received a pair of gold sandals for having stayed so many times at sandals. If we stay one more time we have earned a free week!
The second picture is some of the bartenders that we gave Red Sox hats to. And the third is a picture of the cabana. $125 for the day and it comes with a butler that serves you all your meals. Also inside is a cooler full of beverages. And a small ice cooler so you can add ice to your drinks. I got a big tumbler of iced coffee from the bakery this morning so the ice comes in handy. I love sipping ice coffee by the beach. But the cooler has beer, champagne, soda and water in it.

Good Morning Laurie! I didn't realize you had friends joining you as well! How fun is that! LOVE the little gold sandals. That's adorable! Your dinner sounded wonderful. That's lovely you rented the Cabana again. :) It looks so inviting! I may have tried iced coffee once but that's about it. I should order one sometime just to see how I like it. Have a WONDERFUL day! :)
It is a beautiful, albeit, cloudy, drizzly Wednesday but gorgeous and spring like all the same. I have Lily of the Valley blooming and their perfume is scenting the air and the birds are singing their little hearts out. I have one young female turkey who has been hanging around the bird feeder and she's becoming quite tame. Jim even threw her four small peanuts and she comes right up within 5 ft. of him.
I had wanted to do some lawn mowing this morning but the rain negates that plan. I need to top up the Hot Tub a bit and perhaps we'll also do another run into town. I have my other two enlargements to pick up from Costco and maybe we'll go somewhere fun for lunch out.
No clue at all what to make for dinner.
    Wishing everyone a great day!

Laurie, the sandals are so cool! Love the cabana. And the cooler, although I would probably go for sipping iced coffee also, at least in the morning! I have made it once or twice, but generally don't follow any specific recipe! And it has to have REAL cream and some stevia.

Janet, so funny the hen turkey comes close. The people before us tried unsuccessfully to raise turkeys, but lost most to coyotes and Bobcats etc. He was feeding his seven turkeys one day but counted ten total....the wild ones knew when to show up for munchies. We are sticking with chickens, they head for the coop at night and are limited to the chicken yard during the day.

The blond raccoon has not been around so much for a while, but he would happily stay within three feet when we were watching from inside, by the door. But his comfort zone outside was maybe twenty feet from us, much further if anyone else was around. My comfort zone was much further than his -- raccoons are notorious for biting and clawing, people don't seem to consider they are feral. As old as he appears, he may no longer be alive.

Kitties are asleep on my legs while I type on the iPad.. Mauser is improving on using the litter box. There is hope yet! I think they will soon graduate to a larger one WITH A TOP so it will not be so icky in the BR. I will be glad when they transition to the barn, have considered moving them to the carriage house when it is finished, if we do go away. For a couple of days, anyhow.

Wayne's buddy is here as is the guy with the doors for the carriage house. I have (almost) decided on a summer veggie dish -- Summer Splendor Pasta -- for lunch. The zucchin is frozen from last summer and I will adjust the amounts of onion and garlic, probably omit the red wine, and possibly substitute rice for pasta, thus ending up with an entirely different dish. LOL!

Sounds like you have a busy day Karen! Are they double doors for a carriage house?
    Very quiet in here.
Got some bird seed and my pictures at Costco and Jim was thrilled to find a hat to wear around the property with a very large brim to keep the sun off his neck! :) Did some grocery shopping and dropped some stuff off at the Salvation Army and had a very yummy Butter Chicken Pizza at Boston Pizza for lunch. Time now to do a bit of grass cutting and weeding.
    Decided to make
Chicken Green Chili Burgers Wguacamole Topping
for dinner. Michelle got me turned on to them. :)

Yes, Janet, they are standard garage doors, like a two door garage. They ordered the metal and will finish it and a small storage shed. Should look nice. Wayne hopes to start haying next week. The grass is certainly high enough after all the rain and fertilizer!

It will look nice when all is finished.

I made the pasta dish as is, except no WHITE wine and no fresh garlic cloves. I subbed broth for the wine and added a little more at the end. It was really good.
