    Good Morning Everyone.
It's brrrrrr cold!! Overnight low was 47(f) and it's not much warmer now. The sky is blue with plenty of sunshine so hopefully it'll warm up enough for a nice long walk this afternoon with my little boy.

Last night's dinner was fabulous!! I used a rump roast and it cooked up perfect, just how I like it. The recipe was basic but really good. Even the gravy, which I had my doubts about was great because all it was was flour, milk, and stock. I have enough left for tonight's meal so we will have a do over with a different vegetable and salad. I was so tired yesterday that I was going to put the roast away till today but glad I forged ahead and made dinner.
    Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Plans today are a Costco shop for meats, poultry, fish, and whatever.

I slept well last night. Put a blanket on the bed and it was snuggly warm and comfortable.

Glad to hear your mom is progressing well Janet. Ugh on so many Covid tests needed. Are the tests given a saliva test or the nasal swab? I'm glad they are letting you visit as some/most hospitals are not.

LOLOLOLOL! I LOVE the avatar Linda! That is ah-dorable! That'll be nice if you and LD can get out for a nice brisk walk. -10C/14F here in Rainy River. Overcast too. YUM on your Pot Roast. Sounded delicious. Good luck with your Costco shop. The Covid tests are a nasal swab. I truly shouldn't have been allowed to visit but they've never had a Virus case here and they're not up on it.

Got a call from Mom this morning and an email from her Dr. saying that she was being discharged tomorrow. Sounds like she's doing really well and she's thrilled she'll be out for her birthday. What a crazy ride it's been.

Our friends Jim and Denise have invited us over for 'Christmas Movie Night' tonight and we're going to do a Charcuterie dinner. I'm bringing crackers, cheese, Prosciutto and sausage and Denise is going to make Hot Wings.

I hope to decorate a bit for Christmas today. Jim finally got through to another person at Hydro and they're going to come out and fix the line and tree for us safely.

We are seeing a lot of Magpies this visit. They're beautiful birds.

    Wishing everyone a good day!

Our Costco shop was good and $$$. Not crowded and I got just about everything on my list and more. I got ground bison, crab cakes, flounder, mahi, chicken breast, and whole chickens. I have enough food and supplies for a few months with the exception of fresh vegetables, milk, and such. Of course they had NO toilet paper.
I treated myself and bought Ken Follet's book, the prequel to the Kingsbridges series. I need a book to read and nothing is catching my attention but it so I bought it. I'm worth it.

It's warmed up enough to get out for a walk with LD and I'll do that in about an hour. We had a late lunch (I heated up a bowl of minestrone for myself and DH pan fried a burger for himself).

I Google'd Magpies Janet and they are pretty. Looks like there are a few varieties, what colors are the ones you are seeing?
Excellent that your mom is being discharged. Sounds like she's anxious to get home. Will she have to follow up with any doctors or care places? Crazy doesn't even begin to describe the wild ride.
The nasal swabs don't sound like fun. If I had to test I would prefer the other but I guess nobody is given a choice. A girlfriend in NJ has to test every 2 weeks but they do saliva.

Good to hear your mother will be discharged tomorrow, Janet. 14F sounds a bit too cold. LOL! It is supposed to hit 50 today, followed by rain and wintry mix at night and tomorrow morning. We are staying home! Heard that doe season is open Fri - Sunday so Wayne will probably be out trying for one.

Wow on the COSCO list, Linda. The huge WalMart in Jefferson City had toilet paper, the local one didn't have it listed as available on their pickup list. You might try Amazon -- daughter orders all her paper goods through them. I may go back there next week as Wayne has other doctor appts. one day next week, so we will make a list of must-get items and stock up. I need jeans so will look for some there. IF it is NOT too crowded.

I kind of like the idea of making the group private, with one or two admins with the authority to delete people and block if needed, just because of the porn / spam stuff. Maybe Shona and Marie would feel better about it also. Will go along with whatever you all decide.

    Have a good day.

We have plenty of toilet paper Karen but I hope the toilet paper outage doesn't last for months like it did before.
Hope Wayne is able to get out over the weekend and hunt. A stocked freezer for the winter would be good.

I don't mind making a group page and adding all of us or as many of us as I can to moderate. If it's private I doubt though anything would need to be removed and like you said Karen, maybe the people who left would join.
Need the official vote though on what to do. I'll count Karen as a yes and will wait to hear officially from Janet, Kimmer, and Joce since it's seems to be who's left. Am I missing anyone? As a dedication to Tina I can copy her photo and use it (and too we are all use to it visually) and we can call the group Our Daily Dinner take 2 or something like that.

I don't mind it being a private group. So it is a yes for me. If it doesn't work out we still have this one anyway. I just checked in a group I have a total admin for and you can change it back and forth from private to public. I don't see where you can add other admin people though? Yes, I did find it after fiddling around with the settings. Looks like you can add a few possibly? You have to keep hitting on the avatar of the group then different settings. You can go back from public to private as well.

A very successful Costco trip Linda! And fun that you bought yourself a book. I'm a big fan of people buying presents for themselves. The magpies here are black and white or perhaps a deep blue/purple iridescent colour. They have such LONG tails, they're unmistakable when they fly by. My Mom doesn't like them as they do eat other birds eggs and they are bullies. I've orchestrated some Home Physio for her starting Friday and they're going to assess if she needs anything else. Count me as a 'yes' as well for a new private group. I know Laura is still around, and Lori but haven't seen them here in years. Laurie might want to be added as well.

Hi Karen! Is Marie still around anymore? That'd be nice if Wayne got a Doe. Ugh on the hunt for Toilet paper.

Good evening and hello to all. Just a quick hi here. Home late as I had a couple of errands to do after work. Just bought some fried chicken from Publix and some of their potato salad, which isn't bad for store bought. That and a salad and good to go. Was a cold 41F here this morning Linda. But honestly, I felt colder yesterday morning due to the breezes we had. Was cold this morning for me though. And have no heat at the shop so brought down my heater today. Could have used it yesterday but wasn't thinking. It fits nicely by my work station and kept me toasty today! Good to hear your mom is being discharged Janet. Have fun with Christmas movie night............how fun!

Wow, haven't heard from Laurie in awhile. Hope all is well with her. And yes, so many of the used to be regulars......I'm all in for the new private group if that's what every one else wants. Either way is fine for me!

Sleep Warm and Sweet All...................as always..................

Luisa1, we come from all over the place. Some from the west coast too.
Laurie has had a bit of a hard time logging in here off and on, Kimmer.. I think she tried to use a new name as well. We shall see how this works for us.
